but 11 is enough..looks like narcissist roger just wanted to be the one who laid down the penalty and not the woman judge...why even have a judge hear the case if you are just going to cry at what she rules on

11 game suspension will extend to 12
Aug 18, 2022, 12:17 PM

|
It will be 12 games though. He and the Browns can have absolutely zero contact with one another until Monday 11/28 just 6 games before playing at......drum roll.....Houston! The Browns will not play him with only 6 days back on team property.
I posted last week the NFL didn't all of a sudden become concerned with the treatment of women. This appeal was all about keeping DW4 from playing at Houston.

DW can return to the Cleveland Browns facilities on October 10th and he can start practicing with the team on November 14th…Cleveland plays Houston on Dec 4…barring injury he will be the starter vs Houston…and don’t think for one second that this wasn’t an important date for him and for the NFL…

That’s how the left works. Bully and cheat your way to the desired outcome. Except for one of your own like the Pats owner Mr Kraft.

Since when is Roger Goddell "the left?"
And Kraft was a Trump buddy, so how is he "the left?"
For that matter, why even be a child by bringing politics into the conversation?
I guess (to use your logic) the investigation of the Southern Baptist Convention suggests that sexual assault is a conservative value?
I don't get why people introduce politics into non-political subjects. Grow up.

I don't have any sympathy for D.W. He is becoming an embarrassment to Clemson football. Kind of throws a dark shadow on the image Dabo has strived so hard to maintain. Had he been QB at Bama, Usc, or UGA; every person on here would be calling for his head and relishing every thing that happens to him. I think it's past time to stop looking at him through orange glasses and see him for what he is.

Exactly. A great litmus test on your homerism is if you take your opinions of a current player and hypothetically move them to another team and see if those opinions would change.
In this case, just about every single person on TNet would be destroying DW if he wasn't a Clemson Tiger. Hell, if he wasn't a Clemson legend but just a regular former starter (like a Mike Williams or something) then he'd be disowned too.

No sympathy? "See him for what he really is"? That's pretty arrogant, whoever you are. Deshaun had a record of impeccable character until this scenario. He made some mistakes, but he is not so horrific as you suggest. We all need to remove the logs from our own eyes if we audaciously slander Deshaun like you have.

Nope read my post above. DW4 and Cleveland can't have any contact whatsoever until 6 days before that game at Houston. He won't even make the trip to Houston, much less play in the game. The NFL can call it an 11 game suspension but it will turn into 12.
I bet you bookmarked that link waiting on the suspension to come down.

I don't see why it matters that much if he plays in Houston

Deshaun in his first game back in nearly 2 years, playing at Houston, and getting absolutely murdered by those fans would be must-see TV.
If Houston is still in contention for the playoffs I think Watson will absolutely play in that game. The sooner they get the rust off him the better if they are trying to make a playoff run this year.

I can't stand those that took the money and ran. If you are so hurt and have been so crossed, stick with it all the way through with all possible court systems until justice is brought upon your offender. Come out publicly to show the world you are hurt! Have the "perpetrator" put in jail for hurting you so bad. Don't take the money and run away. I just can't stand those kind of people. They knew he didn't do anything worthy of jail time but they knew it would be a PAY DAY!!!

I get your sentiment, but try to understand ...

... another point of view. I won't argue the merits of this situation. I'll use my own example.
I was in the passenger seat of a car in rush hour traffic when a car slammed the car I was riding in from behind. I was injured and numb and a little dazed, but could still walk. I sat on the side of the road while all the accident paperwork was being filled out by the two drivers, but when the shock wore off and the feeling started to return, I was on my way home already. That's when the pain set in, so I went to the hospital for treatment and subsequently scheduled surgery.
After many calls to the insurance company, they made a low ball offer, but I had no experience in legal matters such as this, so after I had surgery, I contacted an attorney.
My surgeon is a world-renowned Doctor in a major southern city who has performed surgery for professional athletes with injuries such as I had from the accident.
After years of providing evidence of my injury and deficit following the accident, and having deposition appointments cancelled at the last minute (I think the other side did that 5 or 6 times ... might have been more), we finally went to trial.
My Doctor provided evidence by video ... and the jurors slept through it. The judge did not intervene to get them to watch it. Justice works only if you have good jurors that care to evaluate fairly.
The verdict came in and was in my favor, but all but $900 of the award went to the attorney costs and fees - that didn't even cover 10% of my deductibles and doctor bills not covered by insurance.
So, after six years of anxiety and attorney ploys and games, taking time off from work, the aggravation and stress of a trial ... if I had to do it all over again, I would have settled in the first place ... so I could move on.
I don't know the situation for each of the individuals and they may have been looking for a pay day, but they also may have just wanted to put it all behind them.

But you are fine with DW4 happily negotiating a $5 million fine and eleven-game suspension even though the arbiter suggested a six-game suspension?
I guess you would call that "pay the money and run."
None of the victims would "take the money and run" if DW4 wasn't offering it in exchange for them dropping their lawsuits. For an innocent guy, he sure is throwing the money around.

If he’s not guilty and has stood by it from day one, why settle and go to counseling if you did nothing wrong? Why not “stick with it all the way through” and fully clear his name if innocent. Can’t have it both ways.

At this time next year the Brown's will begin a decade or more with one of the top players in all of football. We all understand DW4's talent and many believe in redemption. He can with his enormous resources do tremendous things off the field, even though many will hold to the current narative created by the me too movement and leftest press. Good luck DW4 with the rest of your life.

I hope they regret that decision. I despise the NFL and can't trust them. Their actions are deplorable. Does Deshaun have any chance to reduce his suspensions back to 6? Wish he had settled at six.
That woman, the final plaintiff, will reap what she sowed--- stating that she voted that way because he was not "remorseful" enough. Anybody can fake remorse. I am convinced that Watson did not assault these women. If he did, they would have reported it immediately----not after his multimillion dollar bonus and public "impugn" of the Texans went live/viral. I hope he comes back 10,000 times stronger than ever.
