This is far from true. DJ has played very well at times. At other times, he has looked like last years version. You can't be more inconsistent than DJ has been.

Agreed. When the offense is clicking and many of the games aren't even close, you get the luxury of playing many of the backups. It really helps build a complete roster with experienced backups so there is much less drop off when the staters move on. This season hasn't really lent itself to get significant game reps for Cade. DJ kind of needed the experience himself.

I would dare to point out that in seasons past Dabo has inserted the heir apparent when the game was still on the line. In his words only way to see what we got and what we need to work on is to see him go against their #1's. I will use DW4 inserted against Jawjaw and we went right down and scored a TD. TL16 was also inserted while games were on the line. None of us really know if he's ready to be the starter but we all know that this situation has been handled differently than those from recent history

No it hasn't. Taj Boyd sat behind Kyle Parker when the game was on the line. Cole Stoudt sat behind Taj Boyd when the game was on the line. Kelly Bryant sat behind Deshaun Watson when the game was on the line.
The way Dabo handed Watson and Lawrence was the exception, not the rule.

We've also never seen Dabo heap praise on underwhelming performance the way he has with DJ or go out of his way to avoid critiquing a player like has with DJ. Alot of firsts this year. Either way 10-1 with a shot at the playoffs.

I didn’t realize it until you put it out there, hearing Dabo lay it on thick over and over or stay so suspiciously silent on QB peformance has felt wrong every week for 2 years.

Do you remember that skinny little QB FSU had a few years ago? Felt like he would snap in two when he got hit? That’s close to what Cade is right now. There’s no way he could take a full games pounding. Another 20 lbs on his frame and he’s the second coming of DW4. Be patient.

own lessons to Cade, as his 2010 season and this 2022 season have a lot in common. As I recall, many fans were clamoring for Boyd to get more reps when Parker struggled. Fans were also mad at TDP for being stubborn about the Dabo hire, you know, sticking with an unqualified former assistant in a key role while the team struggled, much as some are pushing the same narrative around stubborn Dabo promoting unqualified former assistants into key roles.
Big difference of course is that in 2010 we were on our way to a 6-7 season, and this year we're sitting at 10-1 ranked squarely in the Top 10, and on our way to an ACCCG berth with every team goal within reach and a realistic shot still at the CFP, along with a top 10 recruiting class in the works.
Sure hope this staff can get its act together before it's too late.

I would like for Klubnik to get more playing time as well. The issue is, you have a team now that is 10-1, and has a chance to win a conference championship and make the playoffs. In that situation, you can't just "play for next year."

I think the coaches gave done at very good job of working with the two quarterbacks we have. Bottom line is we have two quarterbacks and both are not ready to play at the level of Clemson expectations.

It's called practice. He gets reps with the 1's. He doesn't get DJU reps but he gets them. I don't know what you see in the short stints he has played this year but it is painfully obvious he isn't quite ready. Game still moving to fast.

He's played a ton. This is constant goal post moving about his playing time. Now its "meaningful development."He played the entire second half vs top 15 Syracuse.
If he had shown the ability to push the ball down the field through the air, he would've probably got the job already.
