blames the situation in Afghanistan on past administrations and the Afghan military forces. He then refuses to take any questions before going back into hiding at Camp David.

Like him or not, he took more questions in one day than Biden has taken is seven months. Biden has screwed up royally at every turn when it comes to foreign policy. He has always been on the wrong side of every foreign policy issues.

Well yeah, but when we discharge all of the racists, white supremacists, and anyone that disagree with the administration out of the military and we attack our enemy with elite LBGTQ troops we will gain back the respect of the world.

Hammering home the point of the decision to withdraw and completely whiffing on the actual disaster which has been the planning and execution. Almost like someone was trying to change the narrative.

But there was a point. Many of the planners and financiers of 9/11 were there including the top 3 of Al Quaida. Could have been done differently but we’re a little past that point wouldn’t you say? The focal point now is the planning and execution of the withdrawal. Jeez.
OBTW, d@mn straight I wanted those responsible held accountable (in a very violent way). Would you look at Pearl Harbor, shrug and say “gosh darn it, they got us good, oh well!”

There is no way to compare Afghanistan with Pearl Harbor. I am not saying you are. America went in that war with the plan of ending it- with Afghanistan- it was go in do it and come out--- wait look how much money we can make over here. There was no intent on winning.

If you read my post and the post I was replying to, you would see the comparison was 9/11 to Pearl Harbor. Not sure how much money we were making? Heroin sales? Or the normal military-industrial complex? Oil on the brain? Do tell.

Respectfully disagree, the majority of the planners, executors, financiers were Saudi and still are alive and well in Saudi. Just in the last few years our government has made it legal for the victims families of 9/11 to sue the Saudi government for their role in the attacks. But there was too much money and Saudi being an ally bush and Rumsfeld had to use Afghanistan as a smoke screen to make everyone think we were going after the “real perpetuators!”

No, have to disagree there. I stated many as a broad umbrella, but most planners were in Afghanistan. Financiers were all over but funneled ultimately to UBL. Executors, as defined in this particular operation are burning in ####.

There were many reasons for going. If you are a military man, as your title suggests, you should know that. We are in much more danger now of an attack on our country than we were a week ago. But there is no use arguing on whether we should have been there or not, but there is zero excuse for not getting our personnel and our Afghan friends who helped us out many weeks ago. This is incompetent and disgusting. It is also a disservice to all of our brave troops that served there.

I agree with President Trump and President Biden that it is time to leave Afghanistan. If they can't control their own country after 20 years and a $Trillion in support then it was never going to happen.
None of us are privilege to whatever intelligence or logistical disasters which occurred leading to the current mess, but Afghanistan was nothing but a series of bad choices. The Biden administration has blame for the cluster of the current withdraw, but they were left with either re-engaging a possible full scale war with the Taliban or leaving completely like what is occurring today.
Once the Trump admin made a cease fire deal with the Taliban to withdraw by May 2021 and release 5000 Taliban prisoners, there wasn't much of a choice left. We had to leave eventually and can't be there forever, so I don't blame Trump either, but after than deal, either Biden has to agree to it for the most part of ramp up the military back close to 100k troops to wipe out the Taliban again.
It wasn't possible to maintain a status quo of 5k troops supporting the Afghan army after the prior admin agreed with the Taliban we would leave completely within a year.

Like an embassy and airport. Not to mention, negotiated deals can be ….. wait for it…..renegotiated. The Taliban just wants us gone in the immediate moment. They are patient. We should have dictated to them and still can, instead of having people clinging (and falling to their deaths) from aircraft.

What’s laughable is spending nearly 20 years and trillions of dollars in Afghanistan to try to “bring peace to the Middle East” that was never going to happen.
That’s on several presidents, on both sides of the aisle, as well as Congress that has continued to support such stupid decisions.

I'm sure the conservatives will relish this political snipe at this administration while refusing to take the responsibility for all the lies and deceit over these past 20 years. Yes. the Bushes , Mr. Cheney and FOX were all beating the drum for this losing engagement. They lied about weapons of mass destruction, so many of their pet companies like Blackwater and Haliburton could make fortunes at the expense of the American taxpayer and lives of our troops. If the Russians, who were not restrained by human rights, were beaten into submission and assisted in the downfall of their country, what chance do we have to change these roving bands of criminals bent on maintaining their archaic ways to subjugate their woman and maintain an undemocratic religious state at a point of a gun instead of a country of laws. (Sound familiar conservatives). So let them remain in the stone ages. Warn them once, if they attempt to try to spread their hatred and death outside their borders we will turn their pile of rocks into the stone age. In any case, the primary reason and only strategic reason for being there is to protect the oil pipeline which we can do if we have to. So to all you who voted for these clowns and your wars remember you to take responsibility for this mess and not rewrite history to make yourselves feel better.

If Biden didn't like a policy from the Trump Admin, he should have executive ordered it, just like he did with the border wall, travel ban, the Keystone Pipeline, and hundreds more. Biden OWNS this.

Who was it that cut a deal with the Taliban last year? Biden isn't honoring his own deal lol. And the Afghan military have basically laid down their arms in the face of the Taliban advance. You wanna blame that on their last seven months of US training and funding or the last four years?
I'm not the biggest Biden fan, and he should be answering questions, but how exactly are either of those things his fault? Bush is the only one that really deserves to have a finger pointed at him over this, tbh. Not Biden or Trump.

Yes, this is another desperate narrative that we shouldn't

tolerate.
This is all on the Biden administration. The fact that Trump had negotiated anything about this would make one presume that Biden would have done the exact opposite, because that is what he has done to every other Trump action. There is absolutely no validity to the "what could he do? He had to honor Trump's terrible deal" nonsense.

As Commander in Chief, you can take charge and then DELEGATE your commanders intent to your subordinates! Oh wait…
Things like removing non-combatants/non-essential personal FIRST. Destroying sensitive paperwork EARLIER. Having armed servicemen being the LAST out instead of having to redeploy them. I could go on but it really just needs a good 5 paragraph order and let the professionals do their thing!

These corrupt politicians blame someone who has only been there for 4 years (Trump) while ignoring 40 or more years (biden, pelosi, etc.) of incompetence.

My brother in law who was in Kandahar almost 10 years

ago told me on his return that if we are not ready to be there for three generations, this war will not succeed. These people have been invaded by a lot of the great militaries in the world throughout their history. Survival is their end game, not advancing the cause of an occupying state.
Not bush, not Obama, not trump, not Biden, not the mongols, nor the brits could change these folks.
recognize a tough people for who they are, and give them credit for just staying alive in a crap hole of a place.
Keep tabs on the bad guys and drone bomb them as needed. Otherwise, ####.

It is where empires go to die. But we can at least get the withdrawal right. Right?

blames the situation in Afghanistan on past administrations and the Afghan military forces. He then refuses to take any questions before going back into hiding at Camp David.
Wow...just wow !!!!
Yeah, I especially liked the way that Trump continued the war for 4 years then actually signed a deal with the Taliban to withdraw by May.
No President is ever going to look good being the one to end a war. There is no 'clean' ordered withdrawal from a civil war. It looks bad so Biden looks bad.

Um, sorry not a civil war by any means. The Afghans wouldn’t recognize a civil war by our definition. The withdrawal could have been so much smoother than this. This is what you get when the people behind the curtain are in WAY over their heads.

The Middle East was more peaceful that it has been in my lifetime (45 years) when Trump left. Period, end of story. In just a few months, Biden has turned it into a blood bath again. There is nothing you can say, no conjecture, no spin.
Thanks to Biden, and liberals in general, people tonight are being slaughtered, little girls are getting raped. Thanks to Biden, and his voters, people fell to their death clinging to a plane leaving them because they knew it was a better ending than the one that is waiting millions of others. Meanwhile, here at home, liberals want to fight about pronouns. Sick people.

Even Obama said don’t estimate Joe’s ability to f… things up. You can google the article. I’m sure he has good intentions, but Harris is an embarrassment.
