So , to all of those proclaiming we were at war yesterday I would like to give a big TOLD you SO to it not being a war. If true and it holds, common sense prevailed as I thought it would given the positions militarily of those involved. Toss in the unifying of SUNNI neighbor states to Iran and it looks like a win/win. No real loss of life military or civilian is a huge plus to boot.
Nail met hammer and once it was pounder flush it is over and done. No war, no WW3 no nothing.
If old Slick Willy had the stones to hit Bin Laden when he was meeting with Arab princes that whole could have also been avoided. Or better yet that we listened to the CIA guy who advised killing Bin Laden when we stopped supporting the stage in Afghanistan, he likened it to leaving a rabid dog loose in the neighborhood. Sometimes brute force applied in a manner that is precise is a fine diplomatic tool. So in conclusion here is to hoping that the ME settles down over the coming weeks.

Not to cast shade in the highly visible peace negotiations involving Israel, America, and Qatar with Iran, but I suspect that P.R.China has been playing a deliberately quiet role in getting Iran to behave.
Optics for PRC as being a (recent) historical supporter of Iran from the military ‘whose side are you on?’ perspective would be bad if PRC were to publicly pressure Iran to STF-U and go home. Economically, there was nothing favorable for PRC if Iran’s persistence (maybe including escalation?) led to tanker traffic disruption through Straits of Hormuz.
Thus, the Optics War looks to be a resounding victory for Trump-47 and the Netanyahu-for-life-as-he-planned-it regime.
I’ll readily admit that I was likely wrong with my odds-favorite prediction that our military intervention would not work out well. I say “likely” because the final chapter in this story has not been told. Nothing would please me more than, at the end, I am proven to have been 180 degrees wrong as to my original prediction.

we Live in a world were information from the POTUS has to be corroborated by other sources. He constantly exaggerates, stretches the truth, and just outright lies.
Also he’s gonna phuque up the Iran response by going on social media and thanking them for giving advance warning about the missile attack on our base. You can keep some of this sheet to yourself Dumais. The whole point of the missile “attack” was to save face with their citizens and allies; now Donny has publicly shared with everyone that it was a farce. Russia lost because they were the invading country in a stalemate/quagmire. Same thing is going on in Ukraine so long as they get NATO support like Afghanistan got. The economic strain and politics inside Russia will cause them to eventually tapout if the stalemate continues since they are the ones who can end this conflict at any time.

We had a nuclear deal with Iran that they were fully complying with. Trump withdrew from the deal because "he didn't like it" because of his hatred of Obama's legacy. With the deal broken and because of Trump slapping Iran with sanctions despite the fact that they were in compliance, Iran began increasing enrichment. Trump's narcissism is the direct cause of everything that is happening today and he owns it. He's trying to fix a problem HE created.
