Why can't we get a minor league pitcher or player to come back and play?

Bc they are professional players, they get a salary to play...

There is a massive difference both in ideology and legality.

NILs make college players pros. They should have contractual obligations

Jun 12, 2024, 2:01 PM

like a professional.

I disagree. They are not being payed for their time playing. They are being paid for who they are. There is a difference, even if you don’t want to see it.

"who they are"???

"they are" = elite athletes who are expected to play

Barney Fife couldn’t sing in the choir because he got paid and was deemed a professional. So what’s the difference.

The Courts have ruled that all the colleges were colluding with each other through the NCAA to keep wages for the players down. This breaks a law from the 1800's.

It is illegal for the NCAA to fine/punish any college that chooses to pay a player directly. So you make a good point. It seems that college will start to raid the minor leagues for baseball players.

This will contiue until congress grants an anti-trust exception to the colleges like they have the NFL, etc.

Many of the minor league players would be making more money from NIL and playing in college.

Another stupid post. College students go to class and have to be eligible to play their sport and are just like every other American who works and pays taxes if they have and NIL deal. Accept the reality and you will be a happier person.
