Should mid-years be bowl eligible? Fine by me.

Starting just last year, the NCAA approved them to participate in bowl practice. So why not extend that to the bowl game? Leave it up to the coach in case he wants to go ahead and run in a few guys. Some would, some wouldn't, depending on the situation.

Many of the mid-years are in prime trim having just been in state playoffs. Sure would make bowl games more interesting.

Agreed. Little knowledge of the playbook alone would keep them out.

I’d be worried that outside of generational guys and kickers, an early enrollee could be easily dominated physically coming off of high school competition without high level strength and conditioning plus nutrition.

Speed of the game is totally different. They need to practice with other college level players before being thrown to the wolves.

Fun thought exercise but not practical for meaningful snaps. But, sure, give the coaches the option. Might be able to run them out for a snap or two to run out the clock as a reward for coming in early and putting in work during bowl practices.
