It was reported by TI that we are recruiting him as a LB. Peter Woods played a role I'm sure.

I hope edge or hybrid but not Inside LB. He did nothing as an inside LB at Bama. Put him where he's a natural. He was the #1 Edge in his class. Remember when Goodwin moved Simpson inside and he struggled? Now he's outside LB in the NFL.

I've read that although we recruited him in hs as a DE that this time around

coaches prefer him to play linebacker.

Woods, was huge. He came up on Monday evening and hung out and spent the night at Woods apt before getting the tour and meeting coaches on Tuesday.

Kids been primarily a special teams player for Alabama and was considered a bust


I hope he gets better and helps us out, but this isn’t nearly as big as the kid from purdue

Interesting. Is there something written somewhere that says he was a bust? I'd like to read it. Have read a fair amount of things on him recently and never saw anything like that.

I think when you land the number 1 player at a position you expect him to start and be an impact player. He wasn't so he was a bust in that regard. That doesn't mean he can't shine in a new system.

Agreed. Looking at his stats, he obviously didn’t performed at the level he was expected to out of high school. Does that mean he was a bust like DJ or just not used properly? Guess we will see. I maybe he wasn’t developed, but we have had plenty of freshmen defenders who started as freshman and were impactful that weren’t a #1 recruit. At some point it comes from within and maybe this change is exactly what he needed. Get portal pick up regardless if he starts or is a strong back up. We need depth on that side of the ball. New DC is going to have the pieces to be a top defense next year.
