Very happy Ben came back to help his alma mater continue to get better. The reports from the players and commits seem to echo that. Very exciting.

Exactly. I don’t know what he expects. It’s the offseason. The only news you’re gonna get is news like this.

Yea you’re right. All this stuff is just boring pr stunts. They should just dress up all the players in unicorn onesies and make them dance the Macarena around an alien shrine during practice. Now THAT is news.

I always wondered which of our former players might rise up as a candidate to replace Dabo when the time comes. The fact that he has come back to coach, building his resume from the ground up, is a good sign. His building a business from the ground up, shows he has vision and the ability to implement a plan.
We don't know what the future holds, but Ben is putting himself in a good position.

LOL To say he is going to replace Dabo at this point is a huge stretch but everyone always does that when a new coach joins the staff. Same was said about BV,Riley,Allen and so on. Position coaches and coordinators often make terrible head coaches. For what we pay a head coach it better be a proven national championship winning head coach when that time comes.
Great to have him back. I'd love to see Skalski on our defensive staff eventually too.

Skalski would be ok, but if I had my pick of former defensive players to come back as a coach, Christian Wilkins would be top of my list.
On the offensive side it would be Renfrow.

Reading is hard for some as I never said he would replace Dabo. I used the word "might" and also stated we did not know what the future holds but he had a "chance"

That 2016 Championship team was a special, special group and the leadership of Kendall Joseph and Coach Boulware led the way. To win a baseball championship, you have to be strong in the middle, to win a basketball championship, you have to have a really good point guard, and to win in football, you have to have great linebackers. With Boulware, Joseph and Dorian O'Daniel, we had the backers covered.

Hopefully somehow we land Atkinson to give him some more to work with.

With an ever declining level of talent at WR overall the last few years having been once viewed as the strength of our team I became disenchanted with Tyler Grisham and admittedly hoped he would be replaced.
He has since won me over with our current WR room.
Yes , I like everyone else love Sammy Brown but if Ben pulls the silver tuna ( Tyler Atkinson ) to the good guys I'll have a newfound appreciation for him.

It’s crazy the exact situation played out with our last two WR hires. Just change the names and dates on the posts

Ben brings a lot of energy and intensity along with the experience of having been there and done that. Great friends and family hire!

We need to see it in LB recruiting to be the real deal though in the end. I believe in him.
