If you want to win, you have to have elite players so every team in the country is looking for those players.

I believe it is more than that. I believe that chemistry, good coaching,

etc. is more important than having a bunch of elite players. Having twenty-two five-star players does not guarantee a National championship or elite status.

CFB Playoff Teams listed in order of number of appearances.
Alabama: 9-5 Clemson: 6-4 Ohio State: 3-4 Georgia: 5-1 Oklahoma: 0-4 Michigan: 1-2* LSU: 2-0 Washington: 1-1* Oregon: 1-1 TCU: 1-1 Notre Dame: 0-2 Florida State: 0-1 Michigan State: 0-1 Cincinnati: 0-1 Texas: 0-1
It is a combination of elite talent and chemistry. Teams like TCU, Cincinnati and Washington had great coaching + chemistry but that was not enough against super talented teams who are also well coached.

the 4-team playoff. 3 of those 4 programs are far and away the 3 best recruiting programs in the country, and Clemson was a very strong recruiter as well - sometimes right up there with those other 3.
Elite talent is absolutely required to win a title. Will it win a title by itself? No. But it's the starting point, and then coaching, experience, etc will determine which of the super talented teams win.

That’s where championships are built. Inside out. Give me great line play on both sides with a great QB. Build from there. 98% of all championship teams had elite talent in the trenches.

We made the whole championship run without elite talent on the Offensive Line. We had some very good OLs and even developed some to NFL level but nobody who went Five Star to Pro Bowl much less multiples on a line.

May be largest NIL deal ever: "2025 OL Josh Petty verbally committed to Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Florida State, and Tennessee."
