RIP, Ivan Koloff

Ivan Koloff has passed away.another great rassler gone. george "the animal" steele passed away earlier this week. both men were completely different from their in ring personality. Koloff found the Lord and did a lot of religious speaking. steele was a long time high school football coach who worked his rasslng around his 'real" job. that's why he came into areas for short stints, usually during the football off season. 2 great ones gone. RIP

Ivan and Nikita Koloff vs Dusty Rhodes and the Rock and Roll Express were good childhood memories.

Those guys are helping develop new talent.

Sure, they run the indies cashing in on nostalgia, but why wouldn't you. All the former WWF stars that jumped ship to WCW for the money and refused to drop titles to younger guys are the real jokes of the business. Back in the day there was no chance a relatively new guy like Bray Wyatt would win the belt, especially by pinning both John Cena and AJ Styles clean.

Appreciate the update. I saw Ivan many a Tuesday night at the Macon Coliseum with the likes of Mr. Wrestling #2, Austin Idol, Taru Tanaka, Ricky Steamboat and others. Fun stuff waaaay back in the day.

Not a "rasslin" fan but I would watch when flipping channels and I saw him (with his monocle, bear fur jacket, and weird accent) because he was so cool!

don't ever remember Ivan with a monocle or a fur jacket. he usually wore a red satin' jacket with some type of russian reference on it

Yep, he would do a manger type gig for other bad guys dressed in that get-up.

Didn't he walk around eating a big turkey leg (?) or something like that? I always liked Ivan, but never really got into rasslin'.
