No, Richt went to Miami.
Also, SCar would be a massive step down for him. Don't think he'd be interested and I think the SCar brass is too delusional to realize he'd be a great choice. Plus, he's too classy of a guy to work in that $hith*le.

If Richt can't do it at UGA he dang sure can't do it at USCarolina. If this really is Richt's last year Carolina is going to find itself third to fourth choice for top football coaches. The University of South Carolina: THE GRAVEYARD OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACHES. Even the great Steve Spurrier leaves under dire circumstances. So did the "great" Lou Holtz.

I think Richt played at FSU under Bobby Bowden...and knowing people that know Richt personally, he says Richt retires at UGA and theyve had family moved to the area and he says he will never move again....

Richt was an assistant at FSU. One of their players during that time (and my high school classmate) eventually married Mark's sister and, after many years in the NFL, now lives in Athens as well, so he's got pretty healthy roots there.
Coach Richt is "our kind of people" (one of the truly good guys) and I believe he'll retire from UGA.
I wish for him the best and hope he wins every game except when his team plays our beloved Tigers, and gets every great recruit the Tigers choose to turn away.
It would be almost as bad as my own kid choosing the coot job (and getting disowned) if Richt went there himself.

I personally don't see him being put of work more than a week if he still wants to coach. I could see him stepping away for a year or so maybe, but he's a coach, still fairly young and a good coach for the most part. I know he has history at Miami, but can't see him being a good fit at ALL at "Da U". He has tried to keep a certain morality in his programs for the most part, and that Uncle Luther and the boys would sell blow to their family to put a winner back in Coral Gables. That's not MR's style at all IMO.
