Much has been made of the ineptitude of the Clemson offense. But when you start every drive at/or inside your 25 yard line it makes the offense have 15, 16 or 17 play drives to score. While your opponent is starting on average at their own 40 yard line.
We must improve our return game and start putting pressure on the opponents punter. Every punter that plays against us looks like Ray Guy because he gets more pressure in practice than against Clemson.

it didn't really matter since our offense was explosive. By most ST metrics: returns, blocks, net punt yds, FG %, etc, our STs are not good. I am sure they work on STs at every practice, but it doesn't feel like it's a priority, and if it is, the on-field results are showing that their practice work needs to improve!

Julio Jones who was great at returns.
Before the game Coach Bowden was asked about the threat, and he said the guy would get no return yards on Clemson as they were not going to kick it to him. We did not.

I was there on game Day (Atlanta). Alabama and Julio made us look silly.

While I agree I would like to see better starting field position, that was not the issue last year. We were ranked pretty high on red zone appearances. We just ranked very low on points scored once we had reached the red zone. Getting there wasn’t the problem. Finishing was. One item of note - I saw a picture of Dabo from one of the last couple of days at practice and he was wearing a shirt that read “FINISH”. I believe they may be working on the right things.
