Reserves get playing time

I agree with those who say the reserves deserve a chance to play. I do think we get premature by inserting them early in the second half. I do not believe that having walk ons with alot of experience will be the difference between us winning a playoff game or a loss. In today’s college football world, you have to win convincingly because many sports riders don’t watch the games.

This... this is the exact point im trying to make. Letting 3rd and 4th string guys give up tons of late points does NOT add anything to the main goal.

I don't think that a walk on should play at all unless they are showing a potential like a Hunter Renfrow was showing at practice daily...

Those snaps the walkons absorbed are snaps that saved wear and tear on our 1st and 2nd team players. With the new playoff format and potential additional games you’ve got to minimize your 1st and 2nd teams exposure to injury as much as you can. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

I am glad we play reserves once the game is in hand.

For some of those guys, it’s valuable time to learn and get better in a real game environment. Since we aren’t likely to use the portal, developing the younger guys we have is imperative.

For walk-ons, I think it’s good for them to get to see the field some. They work really hard, and it has to help team chemistry for them to feel like a meaningful part of the team. Playing them some live snaps helps with that.
