It appears that we are losing the recruiting battles in SC at a time when SC has many quality recruits. Dabo needs to fix this. It appears that SC high school coaches are feeling more love from SCAR. This must be fixed ASAP!

I find it really interesting honestly.
If it's NIL money; does SCAR have that much more to offer than CU?
Or on a few of these; we never offered.
OP - i've heard before some of the h.s. coaches feel like Dabo turns his nose up to SC high school players. Which is the stupidist thing ever. Especially when 2016 game winning TD was caught by a SC two-star athlete. Mike Williams being dominant like he is: "SC kid"! Nuke oh wait, another SC kid.
So, all that to say, I don't know why but these athletes it doesn't appear we pursued hard/heavy.
Interesting!

Not sure if we are not showing enough love or not, but I do know Beamer beat us on a couple of OL recruits we wanted.

By the time signing day rolls around they will have so many decommitments it won't even be funny. They (the scar fans) are going to be very disappointed by January. Wasn't long ago they wanted to fire Beamer lol.

They seem to be getting quality kids right now from PA and the DMV area. Their 24 class is ranked 5 in the nation. Should we at least somewhat be concerned here?

SC sucks for football recruiting. Our footprint extends the continental U.S. SCAR recruits Ware Shoals.

Dabo once said nothing is less important than the score at halftime.
He said that because no one has asked for a comment about the score at the end of the 1st quarter.
Recruiting for 2024 is basically still in the 1st quarter with about 10 minutes remaining.
Talk to us at the end of the game.

Have you informed Dabo and the staff of your concerns in your 1:1 meetings. I doubt they have any idea what they are doing.

Unfortunately by letting them steal a win from us at home in November, we have given SCAR something to sell. We can talk all day about recruiting on a national basis but losing Pringle/Thompson to them really hurts, Thompson is the highest rated tackle in the country. Losing has consequences. We need to kick the crap out of them in the fall and stop the momentum they have started to build.

As a general rule, SC does not produce many good players. We have some but not a lot. USuC does not have a lot of quality players. They have some. Signing all these players from SC is just to show face. They can out recruit us in the state to get numbers but we will be just fine. After this year, the truth about USuC will be revealed and many commits will go elsewhere.

I agree. Losing last year's game, when we were the better team, really hurt. This may be a blip, but momentum seems to be in their favor. Losing those big, highly rated OL hurts to SCAR. I hope Dabo and his coached find a way to stem the tide on local recruiting while maintaining a national presence. We need to do both.

The coots are cleaning our clocks in-state this year. Not saying it is a legit crisis yet, but I guarantee that Dabo has noticed.

That was a CShi+ comment and nobody has beaten anybody...Poultry can barely beat a nugget at CFA and we had a big lame slow can't throw QB last year to give them the game...that loss was on Dabo...should not happen again...bet we get all the quality players we want from South Carolina and we get the great players we want from all over! There was no PWoods in SC last year but we got one at CCC and he can stop up the middle of a runaway train! If you want homies go root for Coastal!

South Carolina doesn't have "many" quality recruits. At the absolute most there's 6 quality prospects. Winning the in-state recruiting battle results in the T. Bowden era.

SC isn't a recruitng hot bed most years but we should still make recruiting the best plsuedsw a priority because if we cede the entire state to SC because we are a "national" power it will come back to haunt us.

All we can do is offer them … if they grew up SCAR fans then

… they are not likely to accept our offer.
Recruiting kids who grew up in-state is and always has been an either/or proposition.
Very, ver6 few are actually sitting on the fence trying to decide between Clemson and SCAR.

Sure it would be nice to get every single great sc player. But sc generally has few. USC jr panders to sc high school coaches and has taken 2 and 3 star players from them for a while - where Dabo goes after players nationwide. He is not simply loyal to local talent. The best will come - if they fit. Nothing to “fix”.

Don't put much stock into Tom Lemming....almost stopped reading after seeing his name..... He does brings up some valid points, but someone like Luginbill would've shown the other side of the issue better.....
The TRUTH is... yes, Dabo has made some miscalculations in recruiting that are now, thankfully, being tweaked/corrected. Been saying this for a while on here--changes are happening. It is unfortunate b/c most of these were self-inflicted---a hesitancy to change with the changing CFB landscape. To Dabo's credit, we are now offering slightly more kids at certain spots, offering earlier, having Summer OVs, etc.... The one thing about Dabo is when a miscalculation is made, it usually gets corrected...but you won't hear him admit it. Thats why I always say watch what he does...not what he says. There have been definite subtle changes in recruiting, coaching and expectation level over the last 12 months....
I know some doubt, but you will also start to see us get some highly ranked transfers in the future. Will never be more than just a select few...but it will start happening. And almost on cue...after typing this up....I see the news of MG going into the portal...

Well, they seem to be getting kids from NC, FL, GA, PA, the DMV, they may not recruit as highly rated players nation wide, but they're starting to get a national footprint recruiting which worries me somewhat...

You all know that I love Clemson, but I am also a southern woman that tells it like it is. The two DJ years set this team back and let others gain ground. The first season could be written off as an outlier. The same is not true for this past season. Now we all know this was not all DJ’s fault. I have my fingers crossed that changing offensive coordinators will fix the teams issues. But let’s be honest. The defense underwhelmed this past season also. I know that Goodwin replaced the best defensive coordinator in the country. To me, Wes needs to get it done this season or be gone also.
The chickens and others have taken advantage of the crack in Clemson’s armor. The Tigers need to absolutely kill it on the gridiron this season. This is a critical year for Dabo and his legacy. I am really not in the mood for anymore of Dabo’s pep talks stating that we are unappreciative and that everything is fine. After the season the first thing that he did was fire Streeter. If things are bad, I wish that he would just say I am going to address the issues and replace his personnel that need to go.
I have renewed my IPTAY and ordered tickets like I have done for many years and will continue to do so. I will always support Clemson football. I am just not certain of the quality of games that I will be seeing.

Dabo cannot fix what people want to do. If you go back the last 10 years or so, we have become a national school (what Duke is in basketball for example) and just don't get a ton of recruits from our state. It has not been an issue because we have been able to get the ones we want.
