ND played Ohio state closer than anybody has all year. They beat a good North Carolina team. They beat a good BYU team. They’ve won 5 of last 6. This not gonna be easy. It will take our best game of the year. Go Tigers.

Well said the Tigers will prevail it will most likely be a battle . If i were on the outside looking in and didnt have a dog in the fight i would have to say Clemson is more athletic better coached been there done that

we've a fairly good coaching staff,  , plenty of quality players and even an almost unknown backup QB who many believe is the better QB on our team.
I think we can squeak by.

lights-out when he has extra time. We should be healthy, rested, focused, hungry and well-prepared. I expect to dominate the game. That doesn't necessarily mean a blow-out, but it does mean we'll be the clear winner from the outset.

Way more sketchy than most on here think imo. ND is better than they were to start the year. I think we have improved as well, but we aren't some world beaters as much as people hope. I think we win, but on the road vs a solid ND team. I think the game is almost a toss up. I think that 3pt spread is accurate. We aren't some powerhouse this year.

And why do they have home field advantage? They're getting 2 games straight at SB. The last time they came to Death Valley was the hurricane game.
Also I guess we get their NBC Homer announcers. Way to set up a contract swoffhead.

A large portion is just irrational Clemson gut feeling

developed from watching Clemson football since the late 80's. But my gut is consistently too pessimistic. I actually should have said it's the worst I've felt about a game since 2019 vs Bama, when we crushed them.
The logical part is we are still wobbly. We seem like we are too wobbly to survive the regular season unscathed. We were wobbly in every game except vs NC State.
Before the season started (and Notre Dame had some big letdowns) we all thought they might be the biggest test we face. Well, that same team is here. We adjusted our perception based on huge letdowns.
They played Syracuse better than we did, in Syracuse. Their line is tougher than FSU's and FSU pushed us around for most of the game.
We are heavily dependent on DJ, who has been awesome for most of the year. But he just had an awful game. Worst than some of his games last year. Is his head screwed back on correctly? Or is he going to be a headcase like a kicker?
Here are logical reasons to feel good.
They do not have a passing threat like several teams we have already faced. They are all about the run. They beat Syracuse by pounding them into the ground with running the ball. Even though we looked soft at times against FSU, we were also worried about their passing game.
Another reason to feel good is that we had two weeks off for this one and I trust Dabo.
At the end of the day, they are good enough to beat us and we are still wobbly. People are sleeping on them because of their losses. But on any given Saturday those guys can hurt you. Their ceiling is the highest of any team we have played imo. Syracuse wasn't top 15, NC State wasn't top 10 and Wake wasn't top 10. Just don't like it.

Florida state worried me more. The threat of a running playmaker at QB was more concerning than a straightforward running attack.

This might be the first game we have our entire starting defense (knock on wood of course). Two weeks to prepare.
Notre Dame should be a team loaded with talent but their record…woof. They have lost to some terrible teams. Squeaked by some other terrible teams. And even the Syracuse game may be a bit of an illusion…I suspect Syracuse was emotionally drained after playing us, and then they lost their QB.
Still at night in South Bend so definitely anything can happen, but if DJ plays within himself and the receivers step up a bit, then I suspect our Defense, Tight Ends and Running Backs will do the rest.

Eight games into the year, and we still need that "proof" game? I mean, homecoming against a 6-0 #14 team vying for the driver's seat in the division would have seemed like a good time. Or, vs. a tough team on the road in Tallahassee, too. It just seems like 8 games in, we already should and probably do know what the team's essence is, and it seems like the answer is "good," w/ high potential, but not consistent or dominant enough to be a shoe-in.
What that tells me is that this could be a dog fight, and could go either way.

Here's the way to look at it. If Clemson is a playoff team then they go on the road at night and win the game. Just find a way to win, doesn't need to be pretty.
If they win then they need to dominate the final 3 games at home. This is the game that tells us they really are.

I really was more concerned about playing Cuse. They absolutely felt that this was going to be their year to beat Clemson. Although we shot ourselves in the foot, we had more talent, depth and I believe Cuse O and D lines ran out of gas in the 4th qtr. I feel better playing ND. Hopefully this will be our complete game Saturday night. We’re due. Go Tigers!!
