Rattler and DJU

2 preseason Heisman favorites. The Sophomore jinx is in full effect this year. I think Rattler is a 3rd year sophomore, but still.

I'll bet he got NIL money too. The two are very similar in production.

You sure about that?
Spencer Rattler: 74.3% completions, 7.4 ypa, 1,371 yards, 10 touchdowns, 5 interceptions
DJU: 55.7% completions, 5.3 ypa, 974 yards, 4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions.
Those don't look like similar productions to me.

DJ also hasn’t had teammates leaking off the record that he is checked out and is just clubbing during the week, as rattler has

and I've never thought much of him. However, it isn't fair to compare him to DJ.
Rattler has been mediocre this year. DJ has been a flaming disaster.

Rattler started last season for OU. DJ started two games.
There is no comparison between their experiences before this year.
Regarding the nonsensical "sophomore jinx", Tim Tebow and Lamar Jackson won the Heisman as sophomores.

That would be the NIL curse. He signed a nice NIL deal as well. You add UNC QB to the same NIL curse.

As the backup. Puma has looked like crap every chance he’s gotten.

He hasn't gotten a chance this year. And he was better in the Spring game.

He played one snap against NC State. Ran the read option handed to Shipley and scored a TD.

The “sophomore jinx” has nothing to do with it. DJ has some fundamental flaws that I don’t think he was ever aware of that have been exposed. He got to use his legs and make quicker decisions.

It takes courage and a healthy dose of reality, loyalty be dammned, to pull that trigger.
