Question: What is Clemson Univ Without Clemson Football?!

Saying...I know academics is the Head that wags the Dog (Tiger in our situation), but truly can you see Clemson from it's early history "without" ever having a football team, coaches like John Heisman & Frank Howard, leather helmets, old cotton jerseys, the faded purple & burnt orange colors, games on Bowman Field, competition with SC or PC or Furman, etc.

We are lucky to have had some wise men who loved this sport and did it right what with little money, equipment & knowledge of the sport..but went at it full speed since we had a corps of cadets who were strong, ready, smart, enthusiastic, competitive...and CLEMSON Men.
