Question for anyone who knows about gps accuracy in Charleston?

1

Nov 24, 2024, 7:21 AM

Was in Charleston this week staying at the Indigo Inn on Meeting St. Decided to go for a run yesterday at 0530. I never get to do an entire run on flat ground living in the upstate. So, I decided I would push hard at a 5k distance. Please tell me gps on my Apple Watch is spotty due to the tight streets and trees? If not I guess I’m just getting old. lol. Anybody have experience with this?

It's a known phenomena.

Oscillation within a space-time matrix (with respect to fractal resonance harmonics) bonds on a quantum level with isotropic transfer functions manifesting a clear connection to the transmission of location data and causing technological accuracy to decline due to the crystaline vibrational resonance that is interwoven on a molecular level across the void of space.

Simple, really.

You read my mind. I was just about to post the exact same thing. Those facts are part of the reason I am not going running this morning.

Yes trees and urban areas play havoc with civilian GPS. I will also tell you that apple GPS to fitness tracking is wonky.

My wife's apple consistently under reports distance compared to my android. Walk a 2 mile trail and the apple will say it was only 1.65. Android is a bit better. Usually within a tenth of a mile.

With anything less than a Garmin any tracking data should be 'just for fun'. If you are so serious that it matters you need to upgrade.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I do need to upgrade because I need spot on accuracy if possible.
