JL Mann had a good team last year in 5A. They lost 31 - 30 in the semi's to state champ Dutch Fork.

After Leading Dutch Fork and Outplaying them virtually the entire Game! Dutch Fork kicked a FG with a few Seconds left.

We need all the depth we can get at qb. A couple of injuries and we would have to trot Pearman out there. That is a scary thought.

It would be nice to have the qb depth Ohio State has. I just hope we have no injuries at qb,or anywhere else for that matter.

You're thinking of Martavis. Played against him when he was at Calhoun falls before he transferred to hanna. Returned a kick 100 yards for a TD. Their only touchdown of the game

His highlights are good as much as you can glean from highlights. Nothing to suggest he has a cannon of an arm or anything. Runs offense like ours. I did see cases where he went through progressions and seemed smooth about, not panicky. Was flushed a lot and kept his eyes downfield to find receivers. Often threw accurately on the move too. All scrambles to the right. No indication he can run left and throw, but neither can many we’ve had …not named Trevor Lawrence. I don’t think this nil portal stuff is going to allow teams to stockpile QB talent. Dabo probably has a good strategy to build depth with developmental guys like this one and Pearman.

Saw him against Spartanburg in tbe playoffs this season. Spartanburg defense was outstanding and he struggled. I believe Mann scored 2 defensive touchdowns to win. This is a great local story, but not a pickup that is gonna create playoff type wins.

So I went back and looked at the stats. Against Spartanburg he went 6-10 for 74yds and 1 interception.

I live out of the area but as I heard Mann had a very strong team and I am immagining he is the fellow at the controls on offense.
