defense. I'm guessing that was directed towards Goodwin's famous 4th quarter "prevent" defense with a 3-man front?
This isn't a personnel issue. This is scheme--100% on Goodwin. We were up by 3 scores (24-7) at halftime. Goodwin reminds me so much of Kevin Steele....

And Dabo continually misses that our overly conservative mid-game playcalling that results in 3 and outs constantly is detrimental to the defense.

he did mention the offense went stagnant in 2nd half but said it was simple things.........hope he realizes part of it is overly conservative mindset at times....and too many carries for an injured mafah

You can't criticize the defense without critiquing the offense. The defense played three good quarters, the offense one. Hard to keep a quality team out of the endzone over and over because your offense is running a minute off the clock every possession. Having said that whatever prevent defense that was last night needs to go.

Oh, I agree. The second half was vintage Dabo/Riley--waaaayyyy too conservative in the 2nd half.

Frustrated because he clearly said at half time interview that mindset was to keep pressure and not let up. Yet play calling was complete opposite for much of it.
