With Scholarship limits increased to 105 I think Dabo will be forced to use the portal. Unfortunately I do not think the majority of players brought in will be quality depth, but the portal will be used, so all of the problems will be fixed right?
I think not. The issue lies in the foundation and fundamental scheme. It's old watching teams with significantly less talent look better on offense. They look better bc the entire field is being attacked not just on the hashes and out. I can not recall the last time the deep middle was attacked and between the hashes has been gone since TLaws 2nd year. You can not rely on having Tee Higgins and Tlaw level talent and call that a scheme, they were a cheat code.

How does a $1.75 million dollar OC call a WR screen to the weak side of the field in the red zone and then the next play run it to the weak side of the field.
Beyond terrible.

Even if Dabo uses the portal, the idea that he is going to pick up someone decent and that guy goes and replaces a starter is ridiculous. Dabo doesn't believe he needs the portal bc he truly believes that he already has the best players.
You got teams like Oregon, Miami, UGA, Notre Dame spending tons of money to get guys out of the portal who they plan on putting in their starting lineups....Dabo isn't ever going to do that

I'm not saying buying the best players wouldn't work....I'm saying that Dabo isn't going to do that bc he is loyal to the players he has. He is not ever going to replace them replace them on a whim at the end of every season

If Dabo starts buying players, he is going to need money. We already know that the rate this year is 20 million. Does Clemson have the fan base to support that kind of budget?

If the money was there for him to grab a top QB to push Cade or take the job, I do believe that Dabo would do that. Our NIL funds aren't what some believe they are or what they should be. To use NIL money within the rules, that money is supposed to come from a business or company that wants their name to be used with a great player. I believe that pretty soon all these schools that's using booster money as NIL money, sooner or later they are going to be exposed, and they will have to pay the penalty for cheating with booster money...
