Had not kept up with the the dirtpeckers since shortly after they lost to us-about the time Bama massacred them. I see how they achieved their limited success.
WWW body slams. Seems as if in the magic kingdom of Colonial Life you just give the ball to Meechie and let him slam into a stationary guy or several. It is always a foul on the guy or bunch of guys who were stationary. Tonight when they were behind late and Meechie had slammed into two planted guys, the refs of course called a foul on the Vols and the announcers said "uh oh, Tennessee still has three fouls to give and the poultry needs to get fouled AND stop the clock, Meechie's gonna have to drive again." Sure enough it came true, give ball the Meechie, clear out, slam into guys again, get the a foul called, rinse, repeat until the 7th puts you on the foul line. Never seen anything like it. They get unbelievable home cooking, but it is not much like actual basketball. Big beefy guys like him and NCS Burns have place in the game, but it is no excuse for letting them bash into people to establish position, never call a charge yet call a foul in the defender for just existing in space.
