That's good for the players and for fans of the game but a bit hypocritical for those complaining about "dirty" Saudi money.
Big win for the pocketbook of the players who already aren't doing so bad.

That there is a lose-lose deal.
Bad look for the PGA. LIV (I'm still not sure how I am supposed to pronounce that) was stupid from the get-go, but they were backed by (in golf terms) unlimited money. They could have been aired on obscure cable channels forever, but they would never run out of money until the Saudis got bored.
Does this mean we are done with 54-hole team golf? There's one positive.
How much did this cost the Saudi PIF? Both their guaranteed player contracts and to buy into the PGA? It's not as bad as Elmo's purchase of Twitter, but their ROI is going to be pretty bad. And they already got plenty of bad press.

The optics are bad for the PGA Tour. The LIV guys are having fun making a victory lap, but the PGA Tour is the real winner here. It’s just going to take a while for some additional decisions/details to become public.

It's weird. The LIV Tour was an abject failure - though the guys who accepted the Saudi money made out like bandits.

Closer to home, this move makes it harder for a big 4 American sports team to refuse oil money. How long until a major football or baseball team or maybe most likely an NBA team, is owned by one of these.
