I guess he figures they could use the help. I doubt transferring will help his draft stock. He probably would be better off to have stayed at Clemson. JMO Really, I do wonder if there are any stats that show that moving for 1 year really helps with draft picks. It seems that would be difficult to impossible to know for sure. Heck, he might not even get to start at another program.

I agree. I don't see his stock going up by leaving, even if he does get more playing time. You're always one okay away from being a starter.
Something else is the real reason he's leaving.....

He can go to any of those schools. That's true. Improving his stock by doing it? Maybe; maybe not. If we are back on the mountain top this year, does he really get helped by leaving. Going to another school doesn't assure him a starting spot, though he probably will earn lots of PT, and maybe (probably) he will be better than what they have. I wish him well in his life, though.

this still confuses me. I'm not sure if it was Brooks retiring or not getting along with Coach Bates, but something isn't right. Supposedly he wants his masters in something we don't offer at Clemson; what is it? Wanted to be on the west coast. He wants more reps.
I'd say go to SMU & stand out!!!

This is just a sign that Wilkins is moving permanently back to DT keeping Scott's reps WAY down compared to last year. It's a good sign that our DE's can hold their own now. He's not getting a lot of snaps with 2 first rounders in front of him.
He will start and do very well somewhere else. If I were him I would play for the team that defends the run the most.
