Our best player came from the portal

Heldt is playing better than anyone on the team right now. He may not be the most talented or have the measurables of a top 5 draft pick, but he looks better than the ones that came into the season with that type of hype. Hopefully his play helps change Dabo's mind on going after more portal players.

He was developed before coming to Clemson. It should be a lessons learned kinda thing.

He might end up our highest player drafted.

This is one of the reasons why I want us to use the portal more.

We get players who are already developed and have received good coaching.

Because let’s be honest, despite being a “developmental program,” we don’t develop players very well these days.

he is a man on a mission . it's in his eyes

and no one , i mean no one , on the defensive line team has his internal emotional intensity while warming up

his face . his demeanor. this means something to him . he is BYOG. he is NFL

Unfair generalization.

They are trying to better themselves, which includes playing at a higher level, getting better coaching, and hopefully preparing for the NFL.

And yes, making more money is part of that. It doesn’t mean that they aren’t trying their best, or are a bad culture fit.

A lot of these tired generalizations were created by the Dabo cult as a way to justify not using the portal.

Who is to say you aren't also making generalizations? Some get paid and play hard. Some get paid and don't play hard. Really depends on the individual. To me, it looks like some of the Clemson players are pretty soft.

Weren’t you saying the other day that Peter Woods should move to DE and Heldt should be second string?

He has his moments, but he was beat badly by Haynes by being out of position on more than one occasion including on at least one touchdown.

Not with the Dabo I heard yesterday. Nothing’s wrong, and he won’t change because it would prove he’s been wrong in not adapting, though all can see with our teams play.

Look, with all do respect, and I mean with all do respect

Wesco is playing the best.

I realize he’s had some costly drops. But that happens when you’re the only one Cade can trust to throw it downfield to. Other receivers aren’t doing Jack. And Wesco has scored multiple TDs. Including the one against GT. When I watch that TD against GT, I see Derrick Hilton a little honestly. Wesco likely faster.

I’d say Sammy Brown is doing very very well too. Heldt is in the top-3 of current performance.
