Traveled only 2000 Miles to see ‘18 TiGERS play...
Feb 2, 2019, 9:23 AM
|
|
which was driving round trip to only 3 games at Tigertown & around to see the reigning National Football Champions.
Sadly My bad & my choice but remember I hadn’t been “inside” DV since 2012..but my newly acquired 1997 GMC 17’ RV Van allowed me to have 2 nights free sleeping behind local bank near post office only 3 blocks from downtown and then I could walk or ride bicycle. How Fun!
Bet you drove and/or flew many More miles..didn’t you loyal TiGER FAN?

Home Games 6 x 500 = 3,000. (25+ inches of rain thanks to Hurricane Florence kept me from the Ga So game) Georgia Tech 1 x 800 = 800 Wake Forest 1 x 250 = 250 ACC Championship 1 x 200 = 200
Total Miles Driven = 4,250

I hear you "lostlocal" . . .

There's more to it than weather and personal safety issues . . . with no power for 5 days and a disabled wife at home alone, it was best I stayed with her.
All my trips to Clemson are "day trips", meaning I come home after every game . . . even the night games . . . just to be with her.
I know you posted your comment in jest, no offense was taken . . . now you know the rest of the story.
Anyone that chooses to sit thru the rainy ND game and the 2009 TCU game cannot be classified a "Fair Weather Fan"!!!
Go Tigers!

My driving mileage for the season:
7 home games: 8,400 TX A&M: 2100 BC: 900 Wake: 660 ACC Championship: 1,100 Cotton Bowl: 2100 CFP Championship: 510 (plus the RT flight from ATL)
TOTAL: 15,770 miles driving plus another 4,800 miles flying so a total of 20,570 - and worth every mile.
(That doesn’t include any driving I may have done in the area of the games.)

Maybe we should have a contest to see who drove the fewest miles.
7 Games @ 6 miles RT = 42

Bill --- That's not my abode nor will it be in several more years. My reservation is about two miles further from Death Valley. Saying DEATH Valley at my age is a bit depressing. I'll have to steal Penn State's name and call it HAPPY VALLEY. Years ago my parking spot was at the gate leading to Cemetery Hill.

7 x 84 miles = 588 miles (round trip to Clemson). 2 x 126 miles = 252 miles to watch with family and friends.
Total = 840 miles.
