One thing I'll say about Cole...

He's a team player, and he's going to help Watson a ton.
Not sure if it ever showed up on TV, but Cole was always talking to Watson on the sideline and giving him advice. He was also always up and in the huddle before every drive. He didn't stay on the sideline and pout after losing the job.
He may not have the talent of Watson, but he has experience and he's a really bright football player. That's going to accelerate Watson's ability as the season goes on.

The reason we could not see Cole helping Watson was because ABC was too busy showing the nation Jameis Winston on the sideline.

They showed his face once after the series where Deshaun returned for a second straight drive and the disappointed look on his face was quite evident. I think having Cole as our backup , with his knowledge of our scheme is a huge positive and it is a good thing we have that guy there in place.
