CLEMSON, S.C. -- Chris Morocco passed for 171 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead No. 19 Clemson to a 44-10 Atlantic Coast Conference rout over Wake Forest.

The Tigers, 7-2 and 4-2 in the ACC, scored on each of their six first-half possessions, amassing 293 yards in total offense and building a 34-3 halftime lead.

Wake Forest fell to 1-6-1 and 1-4 in the ACC.

Morocco threw touchdown passes of 18 yards to Gary Cooper and 41 yards to Joe Henderson, finishing with 9 completions on 14 attempts, all in the first half. Chris Gardocki added field goals of 42, 28 and 43 yards.

Terry Allen, making his first appearance since suffering a knee injury three weeks ago, scored Clemson's first touchdown on a 2-yard run with 8:39 left in the first quarter. He limped off the field after the score and did not return.

Gardocki kicked his 42-yard field goal, then Wesley McFadden ran 39 yards for a score with 48 seconds left in the first quarter to make the score 17-0.

Gardocki kicked a 28-yard field goal early in the second period, and Wake Forest's Wilson Hoyle countered with a 24-yard field goal to make the score 20-3 with 9:33 eft in the first half.

Morocco's touchdown pass to Cooper gave the Tigers a 27-3 lead with 6:22 left in the half, and Morocco and Henderson connected on a 41-yard scoring pass with 2:20 left to make it 34-3 at halftime.

Gardocki's 43-yarder made the score 37-3 midway through the third quarter. Reggie Lawrence scored from three yards out to push the advantage to 44-3 with 12:52 remaining. James Lott's 50-yard punt return to the Wake 9-yard line set up the score.

Demon quarterback Phillip Barnhill ran untouched 30 yards for a touchdown to make the score 44-10 with 7:49 to go.
