I wouldn’t be asking if we had just lost 2 or something better against NC State
We did beat Georgia, and of course we’re a great team
But pressure can overwhelm any team if they let it
It’s time to ask if there’s an overwhelming late season pressure to get to Omaha
Is there?
The same thing has been happening for the last like 10 years it seems
And if so, then really nothing can end that except for actually making it to Omaha and navigating that adversity

Even when we were a little better earlier in the year it just didn’t seem like enough.

I think people underestimate the profoundness of Cam Cannarella getting hot
He is the literal definition of a spark plug
On offense and defense with the plays he makes in Center
He gets going every at bat, and everybody else will
I don’t know about the power and home runs this team will have, but we made it to the semifinals in the CWS in 2010
And that team to me was best at putting that ball in play and moving runners up a base.
You need great pitching, and I think we truly have that.
All it takes is Cam I promise you

cam is good but cam isn’t theeeeee team. Cam has struggled and put too much pressure on himself by trying to carry the team. Now has he got as many pitches to hit and has been trying to get back to being healthy yes.

Agreed. Cam is stellar in center. He’s not swinging the bat like a 3hole hitter. Overall offense has been streaky but expected a lot lot more from a potential 1st rounder, maybe even 5 hrs especially from an outfielder. Hopefully he rises to the occasion in the post season.

Should add, I’m glad Cam can cover a tonnnnn of ground. If it comes down to him throwing someone out, not going to happen.

Makes you think of the double Tennessee hit in that regional to give them the lead
Cam had been ejected and wasn’t playing center
Nathan Hall was playing center
I implore that you and anybody go watch that play
It was decently hard kind of into the gap, but Nathan Hall literally stumbled on his way to the ball
That had been Cam, that runner 100% does not score all the way from first

The pressure right now is to keep winning, do well in the ACC Tournament and host a Regional. Omaha is not even in the conversation now.

Try to get hot going into the regional and win it. Then see if you get a good draw. That’s about it. Lots of luck to it.

It only takes a few hits in a row to get going. These guys have under performed at the plate most of the year. I still have faith they can turn it around.

I mean yes and no
The good programs like Arkansas, LSU, Texas, etc. make Omaha consistently
You definitely need some luck, but we should hope to be good enough to just be better than the teams we play until we get to Omaha

Our offense obviously hasn’t been playing well, but teams that are less talented than our team this year have caught fire and made runs in the postseason. I have full faith in Bakich to sort things out and to finish the season strong

They're a very talented team which is why their hitting has been surprising. All it takes is getting hot at the right time. Remember Ole Miss from three years ago. They were the last team in and won it all. It can happen and coach is a good one. Go Tigers!

All of the good baseball teams in Omaha will have faced similar pressure situations. Some worse than others according to schedule , record , etc.
Pressure is what you want to thrive on , not succumb to.
I think this team is going to Omaha. That's what I truly believe.
