According to the doods on Land Thieves, this guy is the second coming of Deion Sanders:

I trust in Watson to take advantage of whatever they try to throw at us.

Sanchez has been getting 2nd AA honors this award season, he sat this year with an injury and otherwise might have played his way onto the 1st team. JT on the other corner, is probably more physically imposing and in my mind a bit more disciplined (Sanchez will guess and has been lucky to guess right, but has a terrible game against osu). The emergence of Will Johnson at the NB and Ahmad Thomas at FS has given the SS Steven Parker the ability to show his strengths across the field, it also gives them flexibility because he play against TEs, but runs like a CB.

Very solid. Sanchez is high risk/high reward player. Likes to jump routs going for int but gets burned on double moves sometimes.

They all tackle well. Screens have been blown up all season by them. They seem to pride themselves on recognizing and taking away the screen game. And they have. They almost all have at least one pick. I think all but one.

Ahmed is the weak link in coverage. Definitely a notch or two down from the rest of the unit. But he's valuable in run support. Hard hitter but also the poorest tackler out of the group.

They are 34th in passing defense--right behind

Dec 11, 2015, 10:27 AM

Troy and Marshall

They are 31st in total defense. Right behind Kent State and Vanderbilt

Their statistics will NOT improve after 12/31/2015

Hope that helps!

they played some salty 3rd stringers & a 5-7 tejas team...

CB's are Jordan Thomas and Zack Sanchez. Both are very good at locking down WR's. Sanchez will give up big plays on double moves, but is also a ball hawk. He takes a lot of chances.

Safeties Steven Parker and Ahmad Thomas. Steven Parker is a much improved player this year. He struggled last year as a freshman, but with the experience is very sound. Ahmad Thomas can struggle at times.

The coaches have a lot of faith in them and will leave them in man coverage and bring pressure all game. It will be a great game to watch. Possible Heisman winner vs. his secondary is going to be a great battle.

6-6 Tulsa

Dec 11, 2015, 11:36 AM

Tulsa QB passed for 427 against OU DB's. They rushed for 175 same game. DW should have a fun time.

Re: 6-6 Tulsa

Stoops sat JT for that game, Tulsa abused the db on that side - good learning experience for the kid as it got him refocused for the remainder of the season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

if they leave their corners in man coverage, i absolutely

Dec 11, 2015, 1:28 PM [ in reply to Re: Oklahoma DBs ]

love our chances. we have taken every man coverage we have faced this year to the proverbial woodshed. please stay in that coverage.

Sanchez is a pretty good player. The other guys are serviceable. I guess I tend to think of them in a similar vein to the say FSU where Sanchez = Ramsey. There are weaknesses to exploit but they also have the skill to make things difficult.

Re: Oklahoma DBs

Agree. ... I hope they play man. Sanchez will have to play disciplined football which means we likely hit a big play or two on him. ....

Thomas is a definite liability and our depth at WR will exploit that. ....

I know OU is good. ..they deserve to be in the top 4...it will be a great game but I still see CU coming out on top by 7-10 points. .... it won't be a nail biter but won't be over early by any stretch.

It all depends on if Watson has time. I believe he will be pressured a lot this game. I think the Clemson Oline vs OU Dline is the key match up in this game. Whoever wins that battle wins this game. I like OU's chances here.

I would re-examine your look at Thomas. Watch the highlights from the last 4 games. He was the guy assigned to chase the Bilentikoff Award Winner Core Coleman all over the field, Corey ended the day with 3 for 51 yards. Quietly I bet the coaches will tell you he has developed into the best cover back of the group.

I am not sure how you see 7-10 points better. UNC is not that good and they held a 2 point lead at one time, and more to the point all of their TD drives took them less than 2 minutes.

Off-topic but with the recent douchery & hasty departure from one of your fellow Sooner fans, I just wanted to give you credit for at least having intelligible arguments when you post.

So at what age does your son / daughter convince you to become a full-time CU fan? :)

Are No Better

Dec 11, 2015, 1:38 PM

than any team tigers have played. they will get picked apart. and if dline gets any penetration, and that is a big if, dw will rush for over 100 as will gallman. this game may be enjoyable but if tiger d plays like their ranking, which after this rest they will, tigers will win by 10-17 pts

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

Yeah theyre good! Look how they shut down the best wr in the nation, Coleman with Baylor. I like to think if they can play, and beat, and limit the top 10 offenses they've faced this year, they will be okay against clemson. They got burned against tulsa, but they also had two true freshman getting beat all day because Thomas was suspended.. Soon as Thomas came back all the sudden teams had a hard time passing on them. Clemson is not the best passing team they have faced,so while they are good it wont be the biggest challenge to cover them. Really its rare for straight up passing to just beat up on OU, you to mix it up and clemson can do that. of course OU has a stout front 7 too. I am rather impressed by OU being the #30 overall D when last year they stank bad, and this year they played against some really talented offenses and still are 30th. That's impressive to me. I doubt clemson would be 7th if they had to play all those offenses OU had to play. I know OU is significantly better than unc and south carolina and ncstate who didnt have too much trouble putting up some nice points. Gonna be a fun game!

What better passing team has OU played?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

in a league with little defense, backup qbs & 5-7 teams that

Dec 11, 2015, 3:05 PM

beat their conference champion, they're ok.
