OHIO STATEs record vs southern teams

We all know Clemson leads the pack with a 4-0 record all time over ohio state

But Ohio State is 2-20-1 Combined all time against the following southern schools: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, FSU, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee & Texas

Considering the South owns college football now, it may be awhile before the bucknuts win another Natty

You have to ask how it OSU (and the B1G overall) has such lousy records in bowl games. A Whiskey grad explained it's because the bowl games are played in the South, so the teams built for snow do poorly was one excuse, but the other excuse was better:

B1G schools often play teams that are higher in the conference rank (e.g. the B1G 3rd place finisher will often play the 2nd best team from another conference). This result occurs because year after year, the B1G schools are overrated and have to play above their heads during bowls. Only Penn State, Purdue, and Wisconsin have winning bowl records.

Southern schools typically have winning records in bowl games because they often get to play the over-rated teams from northern conferences.
