Money directly to players and players' family was the key to their success when it was illegal, so now that it's legal nothing has changed.
Although Bama did sink pretty low under "The Mikes." Losing to Auburn 6 years in a row. 2003-2006 had a 0.293 record (after vacated wins). Over 4 years. Bama. Can you imagine? That led directly to The Saban Era.

Donnan = Hatfield

All teams have bad years. I remember when Bama was lucky to win three or four games under Shula.

Many reasons but those schools/fans/admin/board/etc…Won’t allow sub standard / non elite for very long.
They’re also in conferences that are unforgiving. Meaning your flaws and “issues” can’t be masked as much by winning like they can in the ACC. Thats what Dabo has done the last 5 years.

Look at the average NIL per commitment this year but on top of that, Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia are more historical powers.

To say that you have to be a kid. I keep forgetting kids are allowed. All those teams have been totally irrelevant at a time. I don't remember anything about Ohio State or Alabama in the 80s and most of the 90s. Georgia the same but I only kept them separate because they won the Championship in 80 and then disappeared. Oh and Alabama won one in the 90s and did the same disappearing act allllll the way until Saban got their.

Clemson hasn't fully accepted the new reality. Once they accept it, then Clemson will pick their game back up. This is a temporary setback for Clemson, and mostly an issue with Dabo accepting the new landscape.
If Dabo fully accepts the new world, then you will see Clemson back near the top soon.
