Each year as part of their ACC agreement right?

I noticed they play 6 in 2018 in addition to 3 non-historic rivals and 3 historic rivals (navy USC and Stanford). With so many of their other rivals already off the schedule such as mich st, Purdue and Michigan among others I’m probably missing, is this a sign they are on the path to full membership? There really isn’t a schedule argument anymore looking at where they stand in 2020. So the issue is NBC, the acc needs to bridge the gap. Why can’t we turn this whole thing on it’s head and bring ND in bit get a national exclusive NBC ACC deal similar to what the sec has with CBS which may not be far fetched if ND is in the acc. I’ve never heard this mentioned as a possibility it’s always about the ND leaving NBC. Sec has cbs, b10 and p12 have Fox I believe, but the acc is stuck sharing espn/abc with the entire nation we aren’t exclusive. Getting Nd as a full member And exclusive nbc deal would be huge.

I agree totally! My opinion following the announcement of the creation of The ACC Network and during the entire two year “planning process” was that the conference should not go through ESPN due to their SEC bias and preferred scheduling as well as the coddling going on there. I believe they could have presented NBC Sports (and maybe FOX) with an offer of exclusive rights and coverage to all ACC sporting events. Imagine if it included ACC football and the Championship Game, ACC basketball season and Tournament exclusive rights and baseball/softball and any other sports including all the women’s sports.

Furthermore, use NBC’s power and relationship with Notre Dame to force them to become a full time member of the ACC in football. NBC would still have the rights to ND’s out of conference football games with their historical rivals as well. This could have been a WIN-WIN-WIN for all three, Notre Dame & NBC & The ACC and made ALL more than relevant in coverage of college sports (of which NBC Sports hasn’t been in years)!

They would have had to figure out how to charge the public for the access to the package but i believe they could figure that out............maybe, they could accomplish the revenue issue through advertising rates to the exclusive viewership as I’m sure they do with paying Notre Dame.
