"The Sooners got here with quarterback Baker Mayfield running rings around the opposition and defying convention. An undersized two-time walk-on isn’t supposed to play for a national championship.
By comparison, Clemson’s Deshaun Watson looks practically immobile."
^pretty much is...
"But Swinney has also crowed, “Anybody else got three top 10 wins?”
Don’t get full of yourself, coach. Oklahoma beat three in the top 18 in consecutive weeks (Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State) -- not to mention No. 25 at Tennessee." <-- then he does this gem...not exactly what he hoped to prove there besides Swinney's comment is still right. It was a comment though about why he thinks Clemson should still be #1 in the rankings. But it's not like Dodd isn;t taking it way out of context, and then proving it with..."well, they weren't top 10...but..."

basically he's saying that Mayfield's accomplishments are even better than DW's because he's not as talented as DW............not that DW is literally immobile

Take a quote on one subject (the question was "make your case for being #1" to which Dabo responded easily with the 3 top 10 wins quote) and imply Dabo was arguing about the Oklahoma matchup.
Dude is welcome to his opinion, but in no way was Dabo denigrating any possible opponent. He was simply answering a question he'd been asked.

Yeah that immobile QB only has double the yards of mayfield.

In rushing it is CU 15 OU 18 > Are you in politics? It is pretty easy to have more cumulative yards when you play one more game. past great scrambling quarterbacks, Tajh, Vick, Young and those type guys. They scramble because the have to scramble. Everyone of them had a primary receiver and when he was covered they looked directly at their check down man. If he was covered they panicked and started running back and forth looking for someone to throw the ball too. Sometimes, if it was obvious, they scatted downfield.
DW doesn't play the game that way. He looks at no less than two receivers on opposite sides of the field. He does enough film work to know where to run if both are covered. He also gets a last look at the LB and secondary during that short period. He runs like a pro not like a chicken with it's head cut off.
Two things will win ball games but both will eventually fail, luck and bullchit. The scrambler benefits from both but eventually both fail. Neither of those play a great part in DW's success.
What could bring more hits to a website or generate more interest from a sport television audience than taking pot shots at the #1 Heisman candidate on the #1 ranked team in the country?
