From everything I’ve read on T-net about this kid, sounds like he may have never been a good fit culturally from the beginning. He needs to go to one of those “win at all costs” type of schools. Sounds like he would be a great fit at one of those SEC schools. I wish him nothing but the best though… He’s probably on the phone with Shane Beamer as I type this

to give a local kid a chance and hope he’d listen. They never offered - look at his offer list as it doesn’t equate to his on field ability. FSU/Ole Miss, rogue B12 school at best now or lower level to prove himself/get his act together is most likely. USC under Beamer doesn’t have a lot of bad characters like past usc teams.

It’s hard when your 18 and think you know everything, we were all a little bit like that at some point but most of us had that fixed by Mom and Dad between age 2-6 with some real discipline.
If he can harness the “his way determination” into running the ball anger and trust the coaching he has a chance to be great. The alternative could be prison or worse.

That means that they've done something extreme to deserve it. However, someone's attitude can be mildly out of place and they're out. I like it because attitudes are contagious, and we don't need a team virus in the locker-room.

Not surprised at all. Hopefully a change of scenery will benefit him. He has incredible talent and is as tough as they come but he can't get out of his own way. Watched him several times kill his teams momentum with penalties, punching someone, cussing someone, stomp off the field, etc. His HS used him like a rented mule. Best of luck, I know there's good in him he's just got to grow up or learn to channel that negative energy.

I know a few people who have close contacts at BHP. I’ve been hearing this was the norm there but it was tolerated. Apparently he has an issue with being coached. I was surprised we ever offered him because of this issue. Not a surprise. Hope he can figure it out and not waste his talent.

From everything I’ve seen since he enrolled, it looks like a few things piled up that led to this. There were lots of grumbling that he was already in Dabo’s doghouse not long after arriving. Heard he had a tendency to walk away from coaches during practice and even during 1 on 1 instruction to coach him up. Some say he left practice a few times and had some on-field behavior issues too—things like starting fights or showing poor attitude at practice.
Super talented kid, no doubt, but seems like it was a combination of those issues that led to the decision.

This makes it less likely one of the other backs who are here and busting their ### to get on the field will leave so a net positive overall. Hopefully he will learn his lesson and learn to listen to coaching feedback at his next stop.

He needs to heed the assessment that Lou Holtz gave Squeaky Watson. Holtz told him that he would either play in and NFL stadium or sweep it out on Monday. Squeaky chose sweeping.

Any local folks around BHP not surprised by this. More surprising that Dabo ever recruited him. Unfortunately for him, his high school coaches did him no good by allowing him to get away with anything. BHP known for leading the world in unsportsmanlike penalties. No discipline there.

I was looking forward to watching Marquise here, especially with him being a local product. I thought he was underrated, and I loved his speed and athleticism. I really thought he could blossom into an overlooked star as a scat back / slot receiver hybrid, perhaps even becoming a viable option between the tackles if he gained strength later in his career. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the character issues. We don't know all the details yet, but we typically discover that players who get dismissed were sent out for a good reason. I hope he can learn from this experience and turn it around somewhere.

It happens from time to time. A player proves to be beligerent toward coaches, being uncoachable, or is seen as undermining team unity, flunking classes in spite of all the help given not to, crime problems, drug problems and not making progress to fix the problem(s).
Not saying any or which one of these might have been his problem. I wish him the best and hope getting bounced wakes him up to whatever it is.

Told me long before he stepped foot on campus that it’d be a better bet that he’d never darken the doors of Clemson. Weren’t far off.
They said his attitude was one of being uncoachable and self-aggrandizing, couldn’t keep his cool, and beyond that, wasn’t much for grades.
I hope he figures things out wherever he goes and turns things around. Sad.
