Not going to lie, I would get Cades HS Coach

On staff, I’m pretty sure he retired from HS football at the end of last season. He’s one of the most successful coaches in Texas HS football and had Cade looking like superman. Definitely not going to happen and not talking about making him a coordinator but would be interesting to get him in as an analyst ?♂️?♂️?♂️

Agree. Something with new and fresh ideas and eyes that have no allegiance to be a yes man.

It would help with Cades development as well he knows him better then anyone else. Also if you look up Westlake under his tenure it wasn’t just Cade that was special he had that team absolutely rolling. I’m in the minority in thinking that we don’t need an absolute over haul, we just need to revamp the offense to todays game imo.

Love it!
And, why not? I he was interested in coming to SC and doing that job, it would be great.
Clemson is a place as well as the surrounding communities, that people fall in love with. So, could be great for him.
We can hope, right?

So say he is hired as an analyst but DJ decides to return because he thinks he needs some more development in hopes of going pro. You have already wasted Cade's freshman season by sticking with the "my guy" mentality. Do you honestly think Cade, or his former high school coach are going to sit by for another season when Cade can easily transfer at the end of this season if he sits on the bench while UNC comes from behind to win the ACC Title.

You are misguided in your exalted view of Westlake HS (or any other HS) as being the coaching standard to which Clemson (or any other major college FB program) should aspire.
Extrapolating the coaching greatness of a HS football program as being better than the coaching a major (and stupendously successful) college football program is akin to taking the academic achievements of the smartest kid in high school and then expecting that kid to have comparable academic achievements to the senior students at MIT.
It ain't even remotely close.

Analyst isn’t a coach but thanks for continuing to be a #### about anything you don’t agree with. Will make a great addition to my ignore list now you can go TD yourself ?

There are many HS teachers who could run circles around some of the college professors in the college classroom.
Those 4*and 5* super athletes that Saban, Smart, Swinney and other top P5 HC's drool over and court like a teen chasing his first love are all developed and coached by those HS coaches you think should never come anywhere near the great saints of college FB. However that may be, it looks like Dabo already has a couple HS coaches on staff. So, maybe adding one more is too many. But this one could be better than the other two.

Exactly my point but people just love to be ######## with people they disagree with which to each their own. Not even saying it needs to happen to stating my opinion on a discussion board, but guess that’s not allowed anymore ?♂️?♂️

Before you set this one in stone you might look back at where at Chad Morris or any number of college coaches that started in HS football...some of the best in the history of College football started in HS football!

Sure, lots of HS coaches are just gym or social studies teachers picking up supplemental pay. But most are really focused on coaching. And then there’s a handful that take it very, very seriously and can teach you every detail of every position. They go to conferences to learn and to present. So they know the latest offensive and defensive theories. They run up to date strength and conditioning programs by themselves. They do it all while still having to spend much of the day on classroom duties, lunch duty, etc.
You can tell who those guys are because they win all the time. And in this case we’re talking about a Longhorn QB, so he was playing big time college football when Clemson stunk.
Then you have college coaches who come up coaching one position at a time. They have very limited material to teach to small groups of guys. They may end up coaching 3-4 different positions over the years. They generally don’t think for themselves. They live in an echo chamber preaching whatever the HC says. It isn’t easy to tell if they are good because they work on huge coaching staffs. And at a place like Clemson they can get away with watching 5 stars be 5 stars. No need to coach. That shows when the 5 star turns out to actually be a good 3 star in need of coaching.

It’s great to preface your proclamation with the notification that you won’t lie. Very helpful.
