that it is real, and documented, I am mystified that Dabo was actively recruiting Delp. I am glad the Dawgs got him, and think we dodged a character bullet.
He is #4 on defense in the far right of this video. He dives and cheap shot INTENTIONALLY injures the knee of an opposing all star player. He was flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct, as he certainly should have been. I would feel terrible if a Clemson player intentionally did that to any opposing player. And, that's all I have to say about that....

First, that's disgusting and it infuriates me to see it. Especially watching the kid limping as he leaves after the blatant cheap shot taken by Delp. I'd never seen this nor heard of Delp being this kind of player before now.
Second, however, it is the type of thug behavior/cheap shot mentality that is typically associated with neither UGA nor Carolina but rather a perfect representation of the Tennessee Vols' modus operandi.

As I said, this was no borderline call, no mistake. It was done with the intention of hurting the opposing player. And, it worked, the kid had torn knee ligaments.

Yeah, I am in the boat that stunts like this should result in criminal charges being filed. When there is a clear-cut intent to cause injury and injury is sustained, it is criminal.

Since we're talking about Dabo, recruiting and the "character culture" at Clemson, maybe you can help explain the Deshaun Watson situation. Did DW have the kind of character flaw to solicit woman after woman for sexual favors (you can read the sordid details for yourself) at the time Dabo recruited him? Or, was DW not inclined for that kind of personal failing when he was recruited - because Dabo only recruits those of such high character - but developed that kind of character while at Clemson?

No way to know, but my guess is that it was always kinda there, but once he got in the NFL and had the $$$ and the influence, he could full satisfy it whenever and however frequently he wanted. Money and fame, mostly, is my guess. Seems like he was a pretty solid kid while at Clemson. He didn't really have an "off-season" like he does in the NFL, since he took a lot of classes and graduated in 3 years. Just my guess.

AFDAWG, easy money lead to this with DW. It's like COVID has reduced the easy money coming into UGA so not as many players are going to jail down there. It was so bad, UGA had to get a transfer that had drugs and weapon charges. The same character that prompted Dabo to remove him from the team. Now go back and lick the gnats off your ###.

DW is just another innocent kid not wise to the risk of associating with the wrong people. He should have had a better agent and better people around him to keep the bottom feeders away. See also: Kobe Bryant, Ben Rothlesberger etc. 8 figure net worths in clueless 20 somethings just makes them huge targets.

the main thing is, is that ( to my knowledge) not one former Clemson female student has come out against him. Looks like a 'post Dabo' kind of thing, if any of it did happen.

Let me translate this. You really can't defend Delp and try to deflect any scrutiny by attacking a current NFL player on unproven allegations that had zero character issues while at Clemson. You actually made the OP's point rather well.

I'm not trying to defend Delp. Kid made a dirty play. I'm just not prepared to brand him of bad character as some here will do. Funny how all the character stuff has gone silent here lately. Clemson isn't winning like people thought they would and no one says, "yeah, but we still have the best character." Character doesn't seem so important now.
Don't kid yourself, if Delp chose Clemson you wouldn't be reading any of this. There would be no question of his character because Dabo chose him and he said yes, which would by default, make him a person of the highest moral standards. Kid didn't chose Clemson so now there must be a character flaw.
Why do I bring up DW? Because someone will take a clip of something like this and brand the kid as having poor character all the while ignoring the DW situation. DW rubs (no pun intended) against the grain of the never ending "Clemson character" stuff. The guy has an obvious propensity for not just hookers, but soliciting women who are not hookers for paid sexual acts (which is the source of his legal problems). To some, Delp has bad character, but DW? Well, all those women are lying. NFL executives framed him. Kind of a theme here. Either DW had poor character when he was recruited or he didn't. If he didn't, then his time at Clemson and with Dabo did nothing to prevent him from developing a bad character.

You can justify calling it a date or you can call it what it is, bait for more than just dinner. Whether or not you agree with DW's actions or not, men and our love of a woman's pleasure is nothing to compare to the intentional attempt to hurt another player knowing that hurting that player could mean the end of their career or even their ability to walk and live a normal life.
Contrary to your assertion, some of us did call out this recruit for his intentional attempt and success at hurting another defenseless player... I'm glad he isn't coming to Clemson...

Due process is due process. DW made some bad choices and no one has glossed over nor ignored them amongst the Clemson faithful, but what does a pro football player and an 18 year old recruit have to do with each other?
Someone posted about character issues and we all know the standards are different at Clemson than UGA. Take DK for example. 5 star senior was thrown off the team for bad attitude, crime and character issues. Where did he commit weeks after? UGA.
Also, Delp was never coming to Clemson. We’ve known for months. He’s an SEC woohooer.

What happens to a kid after they leave Clemson is not on Dabo, especially if we’re talking about instant fame and fortune in the NFL. But I think you would have to agree Clemson has an amazing track record for players and character. You should watch some of the blogs from Clemson football and see what so many of these kids do off the field without publicizing it and trying to bring attention to themselves. Not just while at Clemson but for years after!

Why are you bring up something that has nothing to do with how bad we suck on offense this year. In fact look at the effort on special teams to rush the punter/kicker, nothing like it was in years past. Completely lack luster. That is a result of coaching and lack of effort! Not what makes elite teams!!!
Come Dabo, time to turn the screws up on coaches and players, set the expectations!!

Wow. I will not condemn a 17 year old to life without football after looking at one play.
BUT, big but, that may be as egregious a cheap shot as I have ever seen. He was clearly not looking to rush and block the kick. He was not looking to push the offensive player back. The play seems to clearly show that he targeted the knee of the guy and from before the snap had the sole intention of hitting the guy's knee with maximum force.

Unless it’s at the end of the game and it’s a field goal or an extra point to win the game then you’ll see some pretty heavy hitting, but most of the time on a kick players don’t hit that hard. He takes a cheap shot on a #### kick!

With all the focus on targeting today, this sort of egregious foul seems to be given a pass.
Kids get hurt all the time under normal innocent circumstances. It really sucks to see someone seriously injured on an intentional play like this!
Time will tell if this as an anomaly or if It is part of Delp’s nature.
