I guess we should thank Wake for beating us in 2008 or The Clemson situation might be a whole lot different!! In 2008, "##########" was everyday, household verbage!

Do NOT speak that word in that context. It's like saying the S-word on a golf course. The gods, they listen. We need not tempt them.

The problem with that word is it was only applied to Clemson as if we were the only one who experienced an upset. Take Tennessee for example. A name brand school like Clemson who has won a national championship. But for the last 15 or so years have been wildly inconsistent. Voters give the name brand schools the benefit of the doubt and the media runs with it building the hype. The truth is during the Bowden years and for Tennessee the Post Fulmer years, neither team has been better than average. But when Clemson experienced it, it was coined a name yet when a ranked UTenn team loses big to the coots, nary a peep.
If the media lacked bias or held themselves accountable for their hype, the name would have never existed.

termed we began what would up being a 6 year playoff, 4 national title game appearances, and 2 national titles. So anybody who brings that term up does so at their own peril.
