I’ve been on this ship since my first game in 1978. I’ve suffered through the dessert. I’ve enjoyed the mountain tops. However, the ship is taking on water. That’s a fact. We’re playing checkers while Colorado and FSU are playing chess. We either evolve with the game or die. Period. Even if we lose every game, I’m ALWAYS a Tiger!

Fat Dave's son was hilarious to watch play. It was like he was ######## his pants every time the ball was snapped. His play scared off all the receiver recruits. And Dabo coddled him and protected him all the way. everyone had to lift his feeling as if he was a little girl playing. Even we he would flat hand the ball to the other team. And that start in the ACCCG, one for the ages.

I think what most people have forgotten is that Big Dave & DJ's mom went through a nasty Divorce while DJ was playing at CU. Divorce effects kids no matter what age. If he or they both dragged him through that crap blaming one another it only makes matters worse. I know it had a direct effect on my kid's performance his last year of high school sports. Dave needs to look in the mirror for some of DJ's struggles like I did with my kid instead of throwing the man that did nothing but support DJ his whole time at Clemson.

I am NOT a fan of this guy. I think he contributed to his son's failures on the field at Clemson with his decisions about his personal life. But FFS, he didn't say anything bad about Cade or the Turner brothers or even hype up DJ's stats from last week. He is simply imploring Dabo to do whatever he can and use whatever tools to make the the team competitive. It's not that different that was has been written 1000 times here in the last 4 days.
As for Mrs. Turner, I understand all too well what it is like to see a family member be taken slowly by a disease. I can only imagine how terrifying her reality was with two boys and a rapidly diminishing husband and father to her sons. But to some degree she embodies some of the things that Dabo does to put the team at a disadvantage. While Nolan was a decent defensive back, he was no all-american. He wouldn't have started at OSU, Alabama or Georgia, but he spent 6 years at Clemson and started for us. He's no longer in football. Cole is likely in the exact same boat. But we used two scholarships on both of them. If they were the only two, I could be totally fine with it. But Dabo does similar things all the time. Haven't checked recently, but pretty sure we hand out a least a couple walk-on scholarships every year while passing over 3 and 4 stars to do it. These kids never see the field and never play meaningful snaps. It is just one of the thousand cuts this program seems to endure that over time, really, REALLY add up.
