Imho we do not have the elite players we used to have due to recruiting and nil issues. Even if we did WG is not the guy to coach them up and jack them up like bv did.
Until we can recruit on a level $$$ playing field i sadly dont see much improvement even with a DC change.

1st string is solid both in ratings and dudes except DE. We only have 1 DE that is worthy to play and Denoff is not him. The tackling skills stink, the playcall stinks, the LB gap integrity stinks. I guess there is one coach that is charge of all this.

Of course not. That doesn’t change the fact that the cupboard is far from bare and a qualified DC could get much more out of this lot than tubby does.

This, Carter is the perfect example, super highly touted recruit that seemed to regress every year. I think at one point he was a projected first round pick. I shudder to think what his projection is now!

We lost like half of our defensive recruiting class when BV took the OU job so the answer is no.

The answer is NO.
Only 2 elite linemen. Remainder are good but not elite.
Linebackers are not elite…. Sammy may be eventually but not yet.
Backend plays hard, Terrell is not as good as he thinks he is and the remainder are good, not elite.
And not much improvement on the way.

I think our dudes are solid! We have a weak link or two, but overall I think a top tier DC keeps UT under 30!!! Just my opinion…. We need a new one NOW!

Is this a serious ? Not even close only 1 DE, slow linebackers , Terrell Looks like a bust at this point. He is an automatic pass interference every time ball is thrown his way . I don’t know if any of these guys would even start for the 2018 team .
