Two orange britches games during the regular season. Now we can only count on one orange britches game during the regular season against SC & that is saddening.

the whole idea that orange pants were only for "championships" was overthinking things anyway.
Traditionally, they had been used for any sort of big game (conf title on the line or not) - or Spirit Blitz weekend, or even just the occasional motivator tool even if the opponent was ranked or imposing. The non-rigid and non-purely-formulaic use of them provided some variety and surprise and excitement. The whole scripted aspect of it was always pretty lifeless anyway. Dabo could easily move back to something like that. It's not like the conference format is forcing our hand.

The Pitt game will qualify us for the ACCCG in all likelihood, so yes it will be a "championship" game

I mean, yeah, maybe Dabo will look at it that way (which would be great!) But technically speaking, no win will qualify or clinch an ACCCG appearance for us if that three-way tie occurs. It'll instead be an assessment of opponent's W/L percentages. So, in theory, we could win the game and still not clinch.
Hopefully by that point either (A) SMU (or preferably Miami) will have lost, or (and more likely) (B) the W/L percentages will start to be clear such that we can know Clemson is safe so long as the Tigers don't lose.

Obviously we don’t want to be too gaudy and goofy with uniforms but we also need to be like Alabama and almost never have anything different.
The uniform “rules” he made feel more like trying to be Alabama than something authentically Clemson

Bowden let the athletes focus too much on which of several combinations almost every week. It became a big distraction.
Dabo simplified that o the combinations we wear now. I agree completely on this one.
And...if we wear the orange pants less often, it just makes it more special..

We could still wear the orange britches because we may play in a game that clinches our spot in the ACC championship game…. Now that is more likely to happen if we play an ACC team the week before South Carolina, instead of a small school. By playing out of conference the last two weeks while some conference teams finish those two weeks in conference It’s hard to clinch a spot after week 10 if you have decent competitors. For example, this year, I don’t know if we will be able to wear the orange britches @ Pitt due to SMU and Miami being so close

This is what I was referring to. Guess the only way to change it up would be to schedule conference games later into November. Don’t think we will wear orange britches unless Miami, SMU, or Pitt loses prior to our last ACC game. Even still, I doubt we wear them against Pitt as you mentioned too.
But, alas.

This should be the Nancy POTD as the only thing we care about is the scoreboard. I will say that our all white road unis and the orange/white home unis are the top two combos and it is not close.

If Pitt beats SMU and we are both 10-0 when we go to Pittsburg, the Orange pants might show up in the equipment truck because the winner will go to the Championship game.
