I wonder why anyone would want to go to a NIT game anyway?

We have a bunch of seniors who have given Clemson everything they have.

Those seniors probably don't care at all about the NIT. If we were a young team it would be more interesting.

The can understand why non Clemson people would not go but those who really support the Tigers would go. Those who don’t will have plenty of ammunition for their hourly pleas for a new coach and constant bitching about the program in general. So, all is not lost.

I am not sure if we need a new coach or not. I like the recruits we have coming in for next year. I completely support the team, but the NIT is meaningless. They are basically exhibition games.

I can’t agree with that. Players such as Newman and White and Tyson and several others could gain valuable playing experience by playing in meaningful games In the NIT. If would certainly give coach Brownell an opportunity to see how these guys we will rely on next year play with each other in a tournament environment. Hopefully that will not be the case and we return to the “big dance” but shutting down the season now would be beyond foolish.

I already apologized. Sorry about that. I was wrong. As far as hoops goes, I coudn't care less about the NIT. Even if we won the NIT I would think it meaningless. I support the team, but the NIT doesn't matter. It's not like we would be building something for next year. I wouldn't consider winning the NIT an accomplishment.

You don’t think the extra practice and game experience would be helpful?!?

I view the NIT like I do mid- and lower-tier bowls: it might not be what you hoped in terms of postseason play, but it’s still an opportunity to keep practicing, playing, and getting better.

True, but 4 of out 5 starters won't be back, so I don't look at it like much practice. Let's say we went to the NIT next year, I would agree with you.

to me...Beating LaTech in the Humanitarian Bowl was as insignificant as they come, but it meant the world to the players and I wouldn't take that away from then for anything
