Versatile Simmons settling in at strongside linebacker
Isaiah Simmons spent part of the offseason wondering how he could help the defense in 2018, and he and his buddies came up with the idea of switching from safety to strongside linebacker. Simmons fell in love with the idea and decided to track down defensive coordinator with the suggestion but found out Venables beat him to the punch. Full Story » |

Simmons and Muse on field together but expected Muse at Sam and Simmons at S.
Concerned about depth across board on back end. Stacked at DL and LB, wonder if a current Will/Mike could also move to Sam for added depth. We are going to be like 4 deep at DL and LB but only 1-2 deep at CB/S/Sam

Really need McMichael and Goodrich to be ready to play so they can add quality depth to the secondary.

Some of the most interesting (dare I say ‘feel good’) stories for me have been the players like O’Daniel, Leggett and others who have been minor contributors in their early years, showing those flashes of greatness, but really never earning the starting position until the last year or two in their career. Then, when they do, they make significant contributions to the success of the team.
My admiration for them comes as a result of watching them putting in a lot of hard work; developing; and worse yet (for them, I’m sure), not earning that starting job and a lot of playing time, or the acclaim right away.
I think Simmons will be one of those guys. At times he has exhibited all the skills and abilities of a superstar, and making great plays. When he’s able to do it consistently, he will be special.
I’m pulling for you, young man!

LOL, we have a lot of talent on this D that has not played a snap in DV yet. We will have a full class next year. Enjoy this year we may never have a better DL.......

10-4 on your post Uncle Bill. All players develop with different speeds on their physical, mental, psychological (attitude) development. You put it well. Would love to see Simmons blossom this year
