Well we defended the crown by losing to duke nice man everytime I think we goin to get hot lately we flop done getting hopes up see how it plays out in regionals we prob won't host one now but oh well

Yep. Pretty sure we have no chance to host. Lot of Clemson first this year. First time ever that a tiger baseball team has lost 9 straight conference games.
Couldn't be any more disappointed. Not really a good feeling about the regional. We'll probably be a 2 seed in Florida region.

Being relaxed is good but looking like you're just out for a stroll is another. Dukes not a good team. To say disappointed is an understatement.
We need a new shoe contract. The shoes we have now must have concrete. Can run down fly balls and can't outrun a hit ball. True duke defense was great. Ours stunk but so did our at bats.
We got three hr but dukes pitcher missed several pitches that we didn't make em pay coaches messed up too, really shouldn't have taken Charlie out at that time.
And where was Williams? Why not dh? He seemed to wake up Sunday w state game. I agree with op that wes Jackson is mid week player. We probably would have been better to treat this as a midweek game. Heck players played well in midweek.
I'm not smart enough to know what the recruiting ranks have been but I want to say they went way down until last year. Point being, is it a talent issue?
Monte will learn from his mistakes no doubt. Never seemed completely comfortable with lineup. Please teach the batters how to protect the plate and how to see the ball.

much in terms of pitching when he took over last year. During the first half of this season it looked like he had been able to work magic with the staff, but it's become really clear over the last half of the season, particularly against the tougher competition, that that just isn't the case. It's difficult to envision this team even winning a regional, especially if we now end up as a 2 seed on the road.

not having Crawford or Miller has really hurt the depth in the back. Not having Chris Williams against a lefty starter hurt as well.
This team has just seem to pay severely for any mistake they make at all down the stretch. The competition has played a part for sure, but barely missed strike threes, errors, just missed hits down the line, check swings resulting in doubles for the other team, etc, have been piling up it seems.
Seemed like every Duke run was scored with two outs and two strikes.

he went to eubanks because it was tuesday and his bullpen day. plain and simple. pitching sure was not the problem last night. the other 8 guys have to do their jobs. and a couple of really sh!tty non strike calls by the ump surely didnt help.

How does this "pod" deal work? One loss and that's it.....we certainly have enough to make some regional. Why not pack up and leave if we have no shot at the acc? Better to get some rest right? Someone please clear this up for me. TIA
