Clemson goes co-ed!!!
- And the 1955 season was a winning season as well. (Draw your own conclusions!)

And Tiger Band officially adopts its new name!

And decades later, Back to the Future Part II would reference the Maryland score.

Clemson’s win over the Gamechickens now gives Clemson a 30-20-3 record in the series.

The Maryland 25 Clemson 12 score was given in a radio broadcast in the scenes in Back to the Future Part 11 that were set in November 1955. Too bad Marty McFly didn’t go back to Clemson’s undefeated year of 1950 (when Clemson was 9-0-1).

Clemson: Academic Excellence! Athletic Excellence!

There is no #70 for Clemson this year so I’m going back to spotlight a player I haven’t covered yet.

So todays player spotlight is #91 Zaire Patterson. He is a senior DE for the 2025 Clemson Tigers.

He “Enters 2025 credited with three tackles and a fumble recovery in 41 career defensive snaps over eight games.”. It should be noted that the reason he hasn’t played much for Clemson is because he has been injured a few times throughout his Clemson career. He’s just recovering from a broken foot as well. Though he prob will be ready to play this coming season. So hopefully he stays healthy and has a breakout senior season.

He was a “National top 100 player according to 247Sports, which listed him as the nation’s No. 97 overall player, the sixth-best defensive end and the sixth-best player from North Carolina … also top 300 player nationally according to ESPN.com … rated as a four-star recruit by ESPN.com and 247Sports … PrepStar Top 350 All-American who ranked as the nation’s No. 12 weakside defensive end and No. 7 player in North Carolina”.

In high school he “had 181 career tackles, 43 tackles for loss, including 25 sacks, three interceptions and 10 caused fumbles in 21 games over two seasons”. In 2019 he “had his best game against Bishop McGuinness when he recorded a career-high 20 tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks and three caused fumbles … also had 14 tackles, including five tackles for loss, against West Columbia that year”. He “also played three years of high school basketball … averaged 5.4 points and 7.2 rebounds in 2019-20”.
