Exactly. Everything but Charlotte is in UNC, Duke, and NCSU's backyard. I despise this conference and their home cooking. I hope it implodes very soon.

Well that just blows. Keeping everything in NC really sends a signal to the rest of the conference. ACC is getting worse and worse.

I suspect that's their thinking, but I'm not sure that's really essential for championship games. During the regular seasons teams travel all over the ACC-map for games. Now we've got west coast - and Texas - teams. I think it should rotate between some of the larger venues within the conference east coast footprint (excluding the 3 new teams as that would put the games way outside of the primary conference footprint)...

Did they not even get bids from other cities outside of the state of NC? How can that be good for the conference and its member's distributions?

It wouldn't have mattered if they had, it would have been a complete waste of time bc NC has already paid for that privilege. They bought the path to the Money Tree yet again, and they will until they just get tired of doing it!!!

Given the ACC's status in conference payout it wouldn't hurt to sell the tourneys to the highest bidders no matter where they are.

What a crock of #####. No wonder schools are lining up to leave the ACC. When we had the baseball tournament in Greenville the North Carolina pusses said it was not fair. They are all a bunch of whorez.

"neutral" site NC venues for championships is what is wrong with this conference in a nutshell.
$15 million is the equivalent of selling out for 30 pieces of silver in today's college sports world.
This disaster of a conference cannot implode fast enough to suit me.

I'd love to hear this dip $#!7 define what he thinks a "neutral site" really is. There is absolutely NOTHING neutral about games in Charlotte, Greensboro, Cary, Durham and Raleigh unless UNCheat, Nancy State, Duke, and Wake won't be playing. Wow...just wow!!!

The only 2 teams that have won ACC Rowing Championships are Clemson - (1) and UVA - the rest (22)!
It apparently moved to NC last year.

As noted in the article, Phillips negotiated a $15 million deal with the state on the needless relocation of HQ to Charlotte. Holding all these events in NC was the condition to be satisfied.

Neutral???!!! Are you kidding me? Let's annually give a little boost to 4 schools within about hour or so of any of these locales (except a few). Yeah, that's neutral. NOT!! It's just not on their campii or in their hometowns! Clowns. If you want to be long-term neutral you have to move them around. It's certainly not revenue neutral for the left coasters who will have to pay extra to travel east every stinking year. But good on them I guess. We will see how long that lasts.
