They were wrong as Heyall then, and, some sweet day, maybe Clemson University will have the stones to hire a basketball coach who will accept nothing less than competing at the highest levels, as well. Butt, as we now know, that day is at least another year away.

The 40 million is for a new building. The BOT still needs to approve that. If they do, it will take a couple of years at least to complete it. Its like giving him an extension without actually giving him an extension.

That was one of two top-40 finishes in your husband's tenure, and he has OP to thank for it. That was perhaps Brads best roster, and that's obvious by how crappy we've been for most every year since. Guy doesn't recruit or coach well enough to get out of mediocrity.

CBB's inherited roster was SO MUCH BETTER than the roster OP inherited from Larry Shyatt. I'm not saying that OP was a great coach (witness his complete failure and short tenure at Depaul), but he most certainly did take a Larry Shyatt closet of players and improved the program rapidly, so that in Year 4 he started a streak of 3 consecutive NCAAT bids and played for the ACCT championship (and didn't get blown out). CBB was able to make that streak 4 in a row with that first class, then fell down to the level we've come to expect over the last 13 years.
