Not that it matters

As we sit here in the early days of summer counting down the days until kickoff I wonder to myself if a win against LSU vaults Clemson to the number two team in the country in both polls?
I expect Clemson to be in the 4-6 range in both the AP and coaches poll when the preseason rankings come out.
I also expect the winner of Texas and Ohio state to have a firm grip as the number 1 team in the country after week one.
But is it fair to say that if we take care of business with LSU, we would be number 2?
Again, not that it matters, just something to talk about at the end of June.

I just wanna win, but I don't even pay attention to the polls anymore until the Playoff Polls come out, its all irrelevant til that one comes out and what we do down the stretch. We need to get back to winning convincingly like we use to and not barely squeak by avg teams or relying on another team to lose to get in the ACC Title game, and most of all beat the #### out of the coots again. This team has all the pieces in place to be dominant on both sides of the ball.

It should make us #2 behind the OHS/Texas winner due to wins on the field, but don't hold your breath.

If Bama beats FSU, Bama will be ranked ahead of Clemson. UGA will be ranked ahead of Clemson. Tennessee and Auburn might be.
Kirk Herbstreit will explain how there are at least 4 SEC that should be ranked ahead of Clemson.

Yep. The only reason we will be ranked high preseason is to push LSU higher if they happen to win.

Depends on the manner of victory. A squeaker where we dont look great won't raise us up any. If we dominate them then I could see it happening.

I've already touched on but here goes
Clemson could easily be the preseason favorite to win it all.
We've already seen several say so.
Here in this ESPN poll they have us #2.
That's awful curious since they are supposedly disgusted by Clemson 😉
A victory over LSU obviously would catapult Clemson into the top spot since PSU is playing an unranked team
From there only an upset would knock us from that spot we would certainly receive a first round bye
