My thoughts on how today is going to go.....

I'm looking at this like the 2004 Peach Bowl vs No. 6 Tennessee led by Jimmy Clausen and Phil Fulmer...... We were overmatched and their defense was going to stuff our run. We didn't stand a chance. The only hope we had was for Charlie Whitehurst to somehow be able to throw and get lucky. But.... Chad Jasmin, Kyle Browning, and Duane Coleman ran all over that superior defense that day. Bowden even used a "punteroosky-style" run that Kyle Browning scored on.

Everyone thinks we aren't going to run on these guys..... I think we will surprise them. It was Chad Jasmin's last game as a Tiger and the first game he rushed for over 100 yards. We are going to find out that our RB room is going to be just fine next year is my gut feeling.

I think we sacked Clausen 7 times too.

I remember that game well. One big difference between today and then, will be attitude and motivation. Tennessee came into that game like they didn't want to be there. They viewed playing in a Peach Bowl as beneath them, as they had expected a better bowl selection. And they played like it. I kind of liken it to the way we looked against Louisville where it seemed Louisville just wanted it more and were better prepared.

Clemson came in motivated and prepared. Beating Tennessee to them felt like it would be a milestone accomplishment and they were excited to be there that day. And they played like it.

Motivation and attitude will not be a problem for either team today. I expect us to get Texas' best. And hopefully, they get ours as well.

I was at that Peach Bowl game. After the game, a Vols fan asked our group, "where did that team come from?" I hope Texas fans have the same question after today's game. Go Tigers!
