What a memorable one it was. I remember coming into work early and making copies of the front of the sports page and covering my coot coworker's office/work area with them. He got mad tore them down and when he went to lunch , I recovered everything again. He went home early. Lol

I watched 3 WF games. 2 full games and 1 condensed version.
I only see WF getting to the point totals posted so far in this thread if Claiborne isn't contained.
I expect we will make him the focus this week in terms of who to focus in on. And, know where he is "at all times"!
They have 1 WR who has a lot of potential also and a QB that is "a gamer"! He plays with just enough reckless abandon to be dangerous if the defense isn't on it's p's and q's.
If the offense plays up to it's potential: I can see 49 points. If the defense does the same the most I see for WF is 10 points.

Scoring points on WF funkey defense is not that easy. They play a lot of folks deep and will not allow the over the top long passes. They keep everything in front of them. They crowd the box. Force you to run outside and throw short passes. Winning a football game is not easy. Folks on here were talking about the FSU blowout. How did that work for us.

You may have me there. What I’m trying to say and not very well is their defense is set to not give up the long pass. They force you to run and throw the short outside pass. Their defense does not generally give up the big play.

We've won 15 straight against Wake. The average margin of victory in those wins is 25 points. Our average points scored is 40 with a median score of 37.
Only once have we scored less than 28 points. Six times we've scored over 40. Two years ago, with DJU at QB, we scored 51.
What Wake defense are you talking about?

Dabo says it all the time. And, "annually around this part of the year in the good years", WINNING IS HARD!
I think too many people have been brainwashed into thinking if you are playing an ACC school not named Clemson you should win in dominating fashion.
Unfortunately, it doesn't happen like that, as Dabo has repeatedly said.
Winning is hard and Clemson 100% gets everyone's best game/effort. Players who never got a Clemson offer want to show Dabo what he missed out on. And, Clemson is among the elite and isn't in the Big 10 or SEC(still forget what you heard).
So, given what Vandy did, would any of you be upset if it wasn't a blow-out?
I would not. At this point, just win the dang game. There will be more head-scratching losses to come in CFB; let's not be one of them is my thing.
Wake has a few playmakers who if not checked well; can hurt us. It is another road game as well.
My thought and hope is: 49-7 Clemson wins; but I'll just take a win.

I don't look for blowouts until the USCe game when he sometimes releases the Kraken. Traditionally, that beast survives through our last game. At that time of the year there are no freshmen on our team. Even the backups have gotten plenty of live action under their belts and the starting freshmen have played all but a full season.

Agree with you brother. Just win and move on. We get everybody’s best effort and game. We are not going to sneak up on anyone. I can’t think of a time Dabo has not had his team ready regardless of the opponent. Alabama would have not lost to Vandy if Dabo was their coach. I’m glad they overlooked Dabo if in fact that is what happened. I’m not sure he did not turn them down.

I always like to see us blow someone out. And it's not that we aren't capable. The blowout will come if we steamroll them in the first half (maybe even the first quarter). If that doesn't happen, my prediction is that as soon as we're two scores up, we start pumping the brakes. Start platooning non-starters and do enough to stay two scores up. If we continue to score that's fine. If we don't that's fine too. What is the spread now? 20? 20.5? I don't look for much more than that. Seen it play out that way many times.

I'm going with 37-17. Ole Miss scored 40 on them so I think 37 is reasonable given that Dabo will bring in the backups on offense. I think with the backups coming in on defense, we give up two touchdowns and a field goal...
